Now, to explain for the kids…
Back in grandpa’s day there were no smart phones with more computing power than the entire Moon programme, no gaming consoles, not even monitors, we had to plug the 8-bit ‘computer’ into the TV. My first computer had 1k of memory… that 7 or 8 orders of magnitude less than your phone. And there was this game called PacMan where you had to control this mouth made up of big squares of colour and move it around the maze eating stuff and avoiding being eating. Not quite Call of Duty level graphics or story line, but it was fun.
We also had only 4 TV channels and the whole family, nay the whole nation sat down at the same time to watch the same show… [At this point the kids call the brain doctor to take care of grandpa and each watch a different streamed movie on their phones….]
