They’re chewing each other’s throats. And complaining that their necks are being chewed… and escalating because of that.

I wish it were that simple. They have common cause, they just can’t see it through their hate.

Could it happen? The future of the world depends on the reestablishment of the brotherhood of man. Salaam, Shalom. Then again, don’t believe what you read in the media. Duck, incoming. So sad.

Actually scenes like this are possible. For a number of years, my wife and I attended a program at a Jewish Synagogue called Comparative Religions. They invited all religions to attend and participate (including Muslims). They did have Muslim People participate in the program. There would be a different speaker each week telling the point of view of their religion. There would also be a social break about midway through the program for all to talk with one another over coffee and cookies. This certainly dispelled any thoughts that Jewish People and Muslim People can’t get along with each other. I truly wish programs like this occurred more often.

Let’s be honest and admit that there are no winners in this conflict.

I wish that it could be like this in the USA where they or their ancestors have migrated. Instead they bring their garbage with them and continue the conflict.

You want to fight because of your religion? Buy yourself a one way ticket to where the most horrendous violence is occurring.

There are Jews and Muslims working together for peace and justice for all. But the war-mongers have the megaphone.

There is an alarming rise in hatred towards both groups worldwide. People just refuse to change attitudes towards those not in their own group and acts of hatred continue.

Hard to equate threats against Muslims with crimes against Jews as the newspapers are trying to do.

Arabs and Jews are both Semites. Strictly speaking antisemitism is against both, at least linguistically.

Watching the carnage, it’s easy to see where an anti semitic climate might be gathering strength.

Question.. are the people of Israel seeing the same images as we are privy to? Or, when this is all over, like in Germany after the end of WWII the people will claim “they did not know”.

I don’t get this. Opposing Hamas is no more Islamophobia than coming out against the actions of the Israeli government is antisemitism. Both Hamas and Natanyahu’s government are evil. But, I feel and pray for the Palestinians and Israeli’s.

Hebrew and Arabic are both semitic languages. Anti semitic and islamophobic caricatures look very similar.

What people are losing sight of, I think, is that while young men may originally join organizations like Hamas, etc., to right the wrongs against them and their people, more and more are just joining because they see that the leaders of these organizations are living off the fat of the land, making their residences in countries that are safe for their families, doing as they please to other people, sending money to Swiss bank accounts, sending their kids to school in Europe or the US, and generally having a swell time. And the young guys see that if they can battle their way to the top, they can do the same thing.
