Cats do cat things, instinctive behaviors of cats; there is zero malice aforethought. On the other hand, Repubs on the far right are all malice, all the time, on purpose.

Rather apt, sir. It does insult cats a bit.

I’m lucky. My big pocket panther Achilles doesn’t bother the tree. Monroe climbs it and bats the low ornaments. Bear likely will ignore it, but I could be wrong. It’s her first Christmas with us.

The poverty rate among children saw a sizeable increase, more than doubling from 5.2% in 2021 to 12.4% last year, census data shows. The increase in the child poverty rate comes after the child tax credit expansion ended on Dec. 31, 2021.

The extremist far right is working very hard to eliminate civilized common goals in countries around the globe — using an impossible dream of maintaining their (often imagined) ethnic origin demographics of a generation or so ago — while ignoring the social, political, climate, birthrate, etc changes  of different sectors of the world’s population … to create obstructive/destructive chaos and breakdown unity of purpose and common goals, which the divisive authoritarian right feels are a threat to their continued existence.

Meanwhile, the House Repubs are concerned with such pressing issues as starting a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden while not actually doing anything to govern the nation.

GOP Staffer: Everybody should vote for Joe Biden if they want our Democracy to survive.

GOP Staffer Cassidy Hutchinson, unlike the vast majority of grown men, Trump sycophants, is brave enough to take a position for her country.

In an unexpected but pivotal twist, Hutchinson, despite her conservative background, endorses Joe Biden for the upcoming election. Her endorsement is grounded not in partisan loyalty but in a profound concern for the survival of American democracy. Her advocacy for Biden reflects a significant shift in political alignment, driven by the urgent need to safeguard democratic principles and institutions against the threat of authoritarianism.

America needs national unity and action engaged to spread progressive messages. It is necessary to prioritize the nation’s democratic ethos over traditional political affiliations and personal interests. It serves as a rallying cry for a collective effort to protect and preserve the democratic fabric of the United States.

In essence, the analysis encapsulates the current American political situation, marked by a struggle between personal gain and democratic duty, courage and complicity, and the urgent need for collective action to uphold the ideals of democracy. It serves as a stark reminder of the responsibilities of each citizen, regardless of their political stance, in maintaining and nurturing the democratic values upon which the nation was founded.

The only threat to Democracy is the Democrat party that will pull any trick, tell any lie, and push any public policy that will give them control of all branches of the government and the media. Change the voting laws, add states, pack the courts, keep us distracted by wars and threats of wars, prosecute their enemies, cancel and silence contrarian views, use government grants and loan forgiveness to buy votes, pretend to support minority and abortion rights, and as long as it benefits them, and ignore any law of Congress they don’t like.

This wasn’t fair to cats or Republicans. Republicans would have the wood chipper there and have it shoved halfway down already. We’re so perilously close to losing Democracy, and most of the country doesn’t seem to care about it or are like the trolls on here celebrating its demise. Everyone who wants to work in the Orange Fuhrer’s WH is telling you exactly how bad it is going to be, and they’re usually laughing about it as they’re talking because they’re all psychopaths. There will be at least 50 Uyghur-style camps full of Muslims and Latinos within 6 months of him taking office. Anyone in the media remotely liberal will be jailed, and MSNBC will be taken off the air. They’re telling you this. Believe them! Vote Blue or end up in the 3rd world hellhole.

MSNBC’s Jen Psaki fires back at Trump over his ‘crazy’ threat aimed at her networkFormer White House press secretary and current MSNBC host Jen Psaki fired back at Donald Trump on Sunday, mocking his “crazy, unhinged,” threat to go after her network in a Truth Social post.

On November 28, the former president raged, “MSNBC (MSDNC) uses FREE government approved airwaves, and yet it is nothing but a 24 hour hit job on Donald J. Trump and the Republican Party for purposes of ELECTION INTERFERENCE. Brian Roberts, its Chairman and CEO, is a slimeball who has been able to get away with these constant attacks for years. It is the world’s biggest political contribution to the Radical Left Democrats who, by the way, are destroying our Country. Our so-called ‘government’ should come down hard on them and make them pay for their illegal political activity. Much more to come, watch!”

After noting it “sounded just like another one of those crazy, unhinged rants” that Americans have become accustomed to from the four-time indicted, twice impeached former president, she first joked, “He also talked about himself in the third person — always a red flag in my book, and he included his middle initial in that too.”

Then she took him to school on how freedom of the press works in the United States.

“Trump is promising to resort to an authoritarian tactic should he become president again,” she explained. “Does the federal government have any role in the oversight of a cable news network? No they actually don’t. But that’s not the point here. What’s important is that he’s threatening to use the power of the government against media he believes is being critical of him.”

“Believe me, I know from experience from many days and hours at the briefing room, that the relationship between the U.S. government and the free press can be tense at times,” she explained. “And even both of the presidents I worked for, they had their own moments of unleashing their media critiques…”
