Ketanji Brown Jackson is probably the most qualified Supreme Court nominee ever appointed. Whether by education (Harvard undergraduate with honors, Harvard Law School with honors, Harvard Law review) or judicial experience (total time on the federal bench, time as a federal appellate judge) or by unique life experience (first ever former public defender, one of few who has even represented criminal defendants as well as experience in overcoming obstacles), no other justice nominee in history has had the totality of experience.
Further, she is endorsed by conservative judges who know her, conservative judicial staffers who have worked with her, law enforcement agencies and a broad spectrum of support from across the political and judicial landscape.
Her judicial history reflects a liberal judicial viewpoint appropriate for a nominee by a Democratic president, but is hardly extreme. It is well within the mainstream of judicial opinions.
Especially after extremely radical appointments were nominated by conservative extremists, after playing political games with judicial vacancies, there is no possible basis for opposing her on education, judicial experience, judicial temperament or her judicial record.
Nevertheless, racists (including sore loser traitors like Josh Hawley who supported the violent overthrow of a presidential election) will FIBricate some manufactured defamatory smears with which to try — unsuccessfully — to prevent her from fulfilling a destiny that is long overdue.
