The principal who was in charge when the image was shown to the kids has resigned. The implication the stories give is that he resigned in disgrace. However it’s my opinion that resigning in disgust is more likely.

Off topic: When I viewed the original “David” I wondered why the hands and head seemed so large, out of proportion to the body. Is it because it was meant to be viewed looking up from below?

Pure ignorance. Michelangelo’ s David is art, not porn. A few centuries ago a pope commissioned an artist named Daniele da Volterra to cover the nudity of the Sistine Chapel and for this reason, the painter was nicknamed “il Braghettone”, an untranslatable term but which literally means “large breeches”, even though he had covered the parts with veils.

What’s also funny is the art in question was originally supposed to be install a bit off the beaten path, but church officials were so taken by the beauty of the work, they moved it to the front vestibule.
