I don’t know that I’d call this a ‘creepy crush’. I certainly don’t think he’s going to be stealing her hairbrush or anything like that.Kevin feels deprived of maternal attention from his own mom, and he’s getting some of it from Mrs. Wallace. But he doesn’t really have the emotional vocabulary or experience to express what he’s feeling (and, as a boy, he’s not really “allowed” to express “mushy” feelings) so he’s putting the best label on it he can.
