Heres my latest invention: "The awkward silencer"
It contains live members of the insect family gryllidaw
But, I haven’t even posted, yet!
Is Buddy Holly in there too?
Tumbleweeds?!. . ..
And I hear them clearly.
I don’t have the heart to tell him the sound he’s hearing is coming from the audience, not that box
and you use the foot pedal to turn them off…. ! ! !
. . . .
It’s also a good way to tell how cold the room is.
Sorry Horace, but unfortunately this device has already been invented.Awkward Silence Sound
Horace’s device looks like the "utilizer,” a button-equipped box that (in the “X-minus One” or “Hall of Fantasy” 1950s science fiction radio show—I forget which one) enabled a man who found it to order up products and services from future companies which—in the era the utilizer came from—were scattered throughout space-time, for a price… If Horace found a utilizer, the effects would be…very interesting, I’m sure. :-)
Oddly, one cricket alone will chirp. Two or more crickets in a small space—and none chirp.
