Good morning™, Minit mysterious readers!

It’s nice to see Joe Staton return with his brushwork for a short feature, although I’m sure that some don’t appreciate his style. Walt Reimer, who does the Roll of Honor, Crimestoppers Textbook, etc., is very familiar with police methods and the strip, so he should be able to do a solid mystery story.

“Kondoolb”? Is that “Bloodnok” spelled backwards. The priceless cebtrepiece of a museum exhibit is a classic mystery topic. The “Froyne” is certainly a weird-looking thing.

Might that be the “garage man” in the top left monitor? If not, then who is it?

Sometimes these Minit Mysteries feature crossovers. So far this looks like a crossover with Ripley’s Believe it or Not.

Kondoolb is Bloodnok spelled backward. Colonel Bloodnok was a character on Peter Sellers’ classic 1950s BBC radio comedy THE GOON SHOW:

“My nerves are stretched to the breaking point!” PING! “There goes one now!”

“A time when Caesar ruled Britain with an iron fist, and a wooden leg, and a piece of string.”

My father was always repeating the catchphrase “I don’t wish to know that!”

l can’t believe Carmen Sandiego has invaded this strip! Now, Dick Tracy will have to find her…

I think the art piece was stolen already.

Joe’s talent is obvious, sit back and enjoy the show!

“Froyne Layven!” said in a poor Jerry Lewis impression….

“I read that THE FROYNE IS CURSED!’"— Not an easy line to say with a straight face, but Sam pulled it off.

Wendy’s got some weird stripes on her lips. I’m not sure what’s going on with that. For all I know it might not be a mistake. A new fashion statement???

So, should we worry about cursed thieves in this one? Well, just one more thing for Sam to life.

And is there a Mukkenese Battle Horn in there as well?

Jimmy Durante tries to sneak off with the Froyne—

Guard: “Where you goin’ with that gold hippopotamus?”

Jimmy: “WHAT gold hiptopotamoose?”

As is well known, fabulously wealthy but wildly eccentric collectors will pay anything for well-preserved Froynes.

And is it any coincidence that ‘Kondoolb’ spelled backwards is ‘Bloodnok’?

Ray, hope you see and can answer this. Shouldn’t the Stillitoe tartan always be on the chief’s hat? One version or the other (depending on rank) on the hat of every Tracyville cop when in uniform, right? Or at least we’d like it that way, huh?

Tracy gets back from his Moon Valley adventure to be part of a Minit Mystery story? I’d like to know why is Mr. Bribery, Thorin and some mad scientist looking character on those monitors in the first panel.

The center of the Koonoodlb exhibit looks like anybody who messes with would gain a curse. Sucker is not just ugly…its “oogly”.

Chances are in this who-done-it will someone who is part of the roadshow for the exhibit.

OFF TOPIC: FINALLY resolved Amazon’s fiendish tormenting and got the book up on e-book/paperback/hardback. NO to relax for…uh…a few hours.

It is good to see Joe Staton back as guest artist. I like his Tracy, Sam, Wendy, Chief Patton, and others. And experienced Walt Reimer should provide a viable story (as noted by Neil Wick in his Good Morning™ post, above).

So, I’d say this MM is off to an auspicious start; one hopes it will live up to its start through the next two weeks. I kinda suppose that somehow Freezdrei and possibly Bribery could fit into the arc, though with Thorin on the third viewscreen maybe they are just retro decor and not canting….

A nice surprise to see Joe Staton drop back for some coffee-and-cake money.At least this is one “Minute Mystery” that people will bother to read.

And the people at headquarters think Wendy Wichel is a “curse”all by herself.
