Tracy was quite pleased with how everything turned out.“Piece of cake!”, he chuckled as he finalized the list of performers. “Sam will tell lame jokes, Lizz will do a belly dance, Pat will do impressions, Lee and special guest Baze will do a Honeymooners skit, Vitamin will sing a melody of boring show tunes and I even got Mysta to do some magic tricks in her burlesque costume!”Tracy was relieved that Bleeder agreed to give him an extension at low interest. “Thank goodness after all these years I collected enough dirt on everyone that it was easy to convince them either agree to the show or I’ll rat them out” Tracy thought while rolling his eyes.
He was wrapping up the details when he heard a creaking sound behind him, causing him to look up from the paper he was writing on.
Toni Cannon, no doubt based on Toni Mannix, the wife of a studio executive who supposedly George Reeves had an affair with, if my memory serves me correct…
Sorry I don’t have much time today, but repeating my comment from 2018:
“In their book Hollywood Kryptonite, Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger make a case for the involvement of Toni Mannix, the wife of MGM vice president and fixer Eddie Mannix, with whom Reeves had been having an affair.”
damms, Dick looks like a thoroughly evil SOB in that second panel… and that face, holy schitt… an underjaw as flat and black as an asphalt road and a chin as sharp as the current ‘cutting’ technology…
George “Superman” Reeves’ longtime girlfriend was Toni Mannix, wife of Mafia boss Eddie Mannix (strangely enough, with his APPROVAL!) Reeves dumped her for Lenore Lemon. One of the theories about Reeves’ unusual death is that scorned Toni Mannix just might have set up Reeves for death.
One of my more precious out of print books is the memoirs of Clinton Duffy, the warden at San Quentin Prison in California.
Not every story he has to tell is grim. One interesting story is that soon after a newphoto-engraving plant was installed at the jail;some inmates got a nice sideline going counterfeiting $10 bills and using select visitors to sneak them outside and pass them. One inmate devoted hours of spare time to steaming and coloring the bills in his cell so they’d be passable.
No serious results except a lot of embarrassment for Duffy.Turns out the Secret Service had been monitoring the situation since Day One—their “crystal ball” told them something was bound to happen.
Would have been a better story arc with a BETTER artist…gee, didn’t I say that years ago? Perhaps someone who could have copied Superman comic-book and strip artist Wayne Boring’s style.

Good morning™, everyone!

I’m not sure I like the drawing style it makes ALL seem like “leperchauns” as Firestrike1 says about Sam

“Jerry Lennox” DOES look like a caricature of Jack Larson, Jimmy Olsen form the Adventures of Superman. (Which was probably the intent.)

Sam looks like a caricature of Spike Jones in the last panel.

For shame! Smoking a pipe at a crime scene! Even Holmes didn’t do that!

Is Kandy Kane named for her love of candy canes or for her weird hair? Whichever – Sam should’ve been named Food In The Teeth or FITT.

I guess Dick Tracy is showing his true age – 98 years old? Sam looks like someone smashed his face in with a sledgehammer

Interesting art… where else has this artist been publishing?

The Old (rerun) Plot thickens, introducing more potential suspects, while the New (Dekko) Plot lies a-moldering.
But for it’s unsolvability, I do like this Minit Mystery, and the gritty art work. But I want to see the Loose Ends of the Dekko Case tied up!
