This is a really lame arc; I can’t understand how Mark kept his broadcasting license for so long. I’m looking forward to a new strip on Sunday.

We had a couple guys on our acquisitions department who took up day trading during the pandemic when they were “working” from home. They eventually both quit to day trade full-time. When we handed over all their work-related data to their supervisors, they were shocked to see how little work they had done for the company while pulling substantial paychecks. This is why I’m a bit cynical about employees who work from home a lot.

This reminds me of when the Chip industry was “supposed” to rise up and be popular. My Intel stock seems to just lay there like a load of bricks.

Big news today is that Tom Brady and his model sweetie are in the red on t heir “crypto” investments—-and they took most of THEIR money in now worthless stock options.

Worse, they can probably be legally sued for “false advertising” over the commercials they made for the hyphenated phony.

On the bright side,a grumpy baseball player named Ty CObb became a multi-millionaire because he decided to get in on the ground floor of a new soft drink that was starting up in his home state of Georgia.

HINT:The word “Pepsi” wasn’t in it.

To successfully day-trade, you must have a system that will execute a trade in nanoseconds. That’s why some systems are physically close to the market, to keep the tiny delay for a signal to travel to the exchange computer at an absolute minimum; no humans are involved.

And the ending bell leaves him owing $50,000. Tune in tomorrow while he tries to stave off the creditors and make enough to pay them back.

Day trading was foretold in the classic sf novel Gladiator-At-Law, by Frederik Pohl and C.M. Kornbluth ( ). It’s in the form of banks of corporate slot machines, with trades every minute or so.
