Lizards are good in the garden. They will eat harmful insects (and helpful insects too; they don’t discriminate). He should keep it, just not in the house. Although, in Hawaii geckos are good in the house, eating the insects there.
my naughty little dachshunds get the lizards (lizards everywhere here in the southwestern USA) I wish they wouldn’t bc the lizards eat the mosquitoes and other bugs but I haven’t been able to get them to stop
We have a few lizards, but growing up, the Anole lizards were everywhere and I caught and played with them, much to my mother’s disgust. They would somewhat change colors to resemble a background. I thought it would make a great show and tell thing at school, so I put one up against an old plaid shirt. It developed a mottled appearance, but not the lines I was hoping for. I turned it loose the next day.
As I was unlocking the gate yesterday I saw a lizard beside my hand studying the procedure. He looked so interested and intelligent. Hope he doesn’t come back and steal something.
We liked to see lizards in Central Oregon when we were kids. And one day when we got back to Portland there was a lizard sitting on our bumper. He road over 100 miles on the back of our car.
I had a murder-machine cat who kept ours and our neighbors’ yards, lizard-free. When the ol’ girl passed, lizards returned and, you know what..? Black/Brown Widow population plummeted! Now, I build lizard lairs around my yard so they have places to flee.
Gecko’s, skinks and anoles all over the place here. If I ever do see one inside, I find a nice little spot for them outside. If it’s cooler, it’s a spot with lots of leaves and ground cover. They do a great service. Of course, they’re also a source of food to other critters that do good work as well.

I’m with Ralph on this one. Put it in Steinbauer yard. Maybe it will get into his house.

We have lizards (3-4") all over the place, can’t step w/o seeing one. I’m used to Geckos, BUT these guys are cool

Plot twist: the lizard came from Steinbauer in the first place, and he’s totally cool with it.

You are welcome to release it in my yard, Ralph, anytime.

I caught a mouse in my house a few days ago and released it into my neighbor’s yard. Very satisfying.

I always enjoy seeing lizards running around the yard, sunning themselves on rocks or fences. Cool critters!

When we lived in Florida it was a challenge to keep them out.
