I still have a trick deck somewhere with half of the cards aces that are slightly shorter than the other cards, meaning you can always “cut” to an ace.
The kid is onto something. Many years ago, back in the late Oligocene, a buddy of mine and I were playing I don’t remember what, but probably some kind of poker, but one-eyed jacks and some other card were “wild”. We got bored and decided to play with deuces and tens wild, too, and possibly more. It was totally not fun.

With bridge, some suits outrank others, but I don’t think that that is the case with poker.
