There are just too many to choose from like racist, misogynist, pedophile. and fascist. If hyphenated words count as one word, then we also have adjudicated-rapist, convicted-felon and under-educated. Well, it doesn’t really matter anyway because the world sees us as a people willing to re-elect a convicted-felon, adjudicated-rapist, dictator want-to-be and as a country that may soon be one of Putin’s vassal states.
The Oxford Dictionary already named the emoji representing LOL as the “word of the year” back in 2015. It was the first word-of-the-year represented by an image rather than alphabetical characters.

After the sixth consecutive screen-takeover by the Phillips/76 ad in about one minute, I’m nominating “ad-bombing”.

I’m sticking with “wow.” This was absolutely THAT kind of year.

Wait, is it word – singular – of the year, or words of the year? If there was at least three this year, doesn’t that defeat the purpose?
Ah, corporate logic. We’re beyond saving.

For a large number of people in the world, the word might be “despair”.

I’d pick “transition”. Some of the transition in my life was good, some was not so good.
