Pachyderm simply means thick skin i.e., elephants have to put up with a lot of insults from people. : )
This would also be a good time to distinguish between forgetting and forgiving.
How did we get “having thick skin” (pachyderm) and “forgetting” into the same commentary? They are not the same.
Yes, that is a good thing to remember. In my day it would win you a trip to the principal’s office and standing for the rest of the class.
