    I wasn’t in the right place at all. The eclipse and auroras were both blocked by cloud cover in my area. Was Max to blame?

    I was in the path of totality for the eclipse in Maine. So was (I think) the whole rest of the eastern half of the United States, judging by the traffic afterwards.

    What I read is that the two cicada broods were in completely different locations. You couldn’t see both of them together.
