Lucius Lipschitz had the unfortunate habit of mispronouncing words and putting accents on the wrong syl-labels. Thus, he said ‘pec-you-liar’ and compounded the offense by uttering ‘crass c-—ty’ in ‘Miss Sour-Eye’. He also often introduced himself to strangers as ‘Luscious’.

I know the Show Me State thinks It’s All That*, but just as it runs thru Peculiar, MO, Interstate 49 runs thru the county in Arkansas where I born and raised but you don’t see us Natural Staters giving our towns cartoon-worthy names.

    * What with its St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs and famous birthplaces (Mark Twain, Harry Truman, Rush Limbaugh, Bass Pro Shops)

ᴛᴅʟ Alert! Stephen Pastis’ Rat just suggested “lame” is a banned word! What are we going to do?

Sorry for triple posting, but if the ᴛᴇʀᴇsᴀ ᴅᴇғᴇɴsᴇ ʟᴇᴀɢᴜᴇ can’t be rallied to defend “lame” what are the comics coming to?

I’d like to start acknowledging the birthdays of my readers on this page. Please email me your birthdate if you’d like mass birthday greetings from other FA readers. You don’t have to include the year, of course. Or your age. Do I have any Leap-Year babies?

I once found a study that revealed that there is usually at least two people in a group with the same birthday… such as a school classroom. If anyone finds information about the odds of this happening or any study along those lines, kindly share it.

    When you dance

Do you feel peculiar, then fake a stance?

    In a trance

    While Missourians mingle with circumstance?

Peculiar is a city in Cass County, Missouri and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area within the United States. The population was 4,608 at the 2010 census. The town motto is “Where the ‘odds’ are with you.”

“May the odds be ever in your favor” is a quote from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The phrase means that someone is likely to succeed in what they are doing.
