Frank and Ernest got it wrong because the strip made it look like Garfield would be watching television in this one, but who am I to complain?

When I saw the original “The Day The Earth Stood Still” I memorized the words that Patricia Neal said to Gort. If I remember right she got to ride on the flying saucer right after that. I just knew that if a real flying saucer ever showed up I would be able to get a ride on it because I knew the “Open Sesame” magic words! Yeah….it never happened and yes, I still remember those words.

Luckily the alien didn’t ask, “Take me to your owner”.

That alien looks like the one that appeared in the “Garfield and Friends” episode “Nighty Nightmare”, revealed to be the one responsible for Garfield eating everything on the planet and growing to the size of a skyscraper so that he could be used as Thanksgiving dinner for the planet Clarion. Also, imagine if Jon came outside wondering what was going on.

Aha. Just what the alien astronaut theorists had always suspected.
