Wow, Gar’s new obsession, the unfairness of social media! Clutch yer pearls, Gary! Jack Dorsey should have gotten off his dead ass years ago to put a stop to the orange emperor in waiting, and are we sure Mark zuckerbunny is from Earth?
Trump Disciple Varvel genuinely has no concept of the difference between a private, unregulated corporation deciding to restrict lies and hatreds on their platforms and government persecution of political activity.
Not everyone who voted for Trump is complicit in his crimes. Not every Trump voter commits or abets crimes in support of Trump. Not everyone in Trump’s administration is unfit for any further position in government. But plenty of them are.
De-Nazification didn’t involve punishing every German who was a member of the Nazi Party, but those in high position who enabled Hitler were, when possible, removed from positions of authority.
With some of the opinions expressed here, I guess you would have also supported the McCarthy hearings and the blacklisting of people who even thought about becoming Communists. I’ve never supported Trump, but what’s happening now is really scary, and people need to think about what they’re doing. I read where someone who supported Trump was dropped by his insurance company! Is that what people really want to see happen? What’s to keep this from happening to people who support others who hold unpopular views? We need to be really careful about those slippery slopes.
The correct question should have been “Are you now, or have ever been involved in activities to overthrow the government?” It’s one of the standard questions on the SF 86 when you apply for a security clearance. If you answer yes, guess what? You don’t get one. If you answer no, and lie, you can get prosecuted for perjury and lose any clearance you may have been granted because of that lie.
Varvel has joined the other RW loons in trying to distract from the fact that Trump fomented insurrection from his supporters and was impeached for it.
As an employer I would never employ a Trump supporter. By virtue of their support for this mendacious idiot tells me that their capacity for reason is severely compromised.
Gary’s worried about the Truth and Reconciliation tribunals; as usual, projecting what a second term Trump administration would do, as opposed to what the Dems are (sadly) likely to do.
I’m just sorry security in DC has to be so tight right now as I would love to have a round the clock demonstration outside the White House chanting “Lock him up.” Non-stop.
Gary, wouldn’t you want to know if a potential employee beat a cop to death with a flagpole or fire extinguisher? Would you hire someone who said “Yes- I was involved in beating a policeman to death.” Is that the kind of “good christian” you are?
This actually resembles the Republican party in the senate asking potential judges if they support Republican values before they can be appointed. Or, for that matter, the way to Bush administration illegally asked questions about views on abortion or religion of candidates interviewing to be government lawyers.
Consequences. I think this really depends upon where in the hierarchy you were, ie. secretaries should be okay, advisors should have to beg for a job flipping burgers.
Ok, so the interviewer holds a paper that says “social media” and the guy is being interviewed for a job in sales. I’m starting to wish Gary would provide an explanation for his increasingly incoherent cartoons.
I feel this might be a justifiable question in the future to anyone I have to deal with. #45 supporters are obviously not playing with a full deck. Do you really want one as a dentist, a pilot, a money manager or a baby-sitter? I don’t even want one walking my dog.
I would not mind hiring a Trump supporter, Biden supporter, an independent, a Libertarian, a Green Party member, or a Constitution Party member. My concern about hiring people is: Can they help me get some work done around here?

If you support traitor trump, that makes you a traitor. It would be like a German flying a Nazi flag and then saying they were not a Nazi.
