Worst. Interview. Ever.
“Today Valley Tech! Tomorrow the world!”
Don’t insult us in Mensa. We don’t use it to make trouble and can see through con artists.
“I’m in Mensa. My mind is quick. I’m modest. As for Valley Tech, I’ve been recruiting lots of transfers from Texas, Florida, and Western Pennsylvania.”
In all reality , if you’re a Mensa will you show the girl in the studio how to work her Texas Instrument Hand Calculator ?
If you have to talk about how smart you are, how smart are you really, Big Hand Luke?
P3 Meanwhile, Big Hand Luke’s side piece waits off to the side in the studio while he finishes schooling Marty.
“… I’m in Mensa…” …”… I’m brilliant…”…. “… I’m quick…”That’s three more lies right there
P 4: “…. Uh, make it through the season without doing something stupid and getting fired?…”
P4- Have our janitor at VT complete a thorough disinfecting cleaning of our athletic facilities to remove the dry spittle accumulated during the tenure of my predecessor. Impressed by my vocabulary Marty?
Why is this guy not coaching the Bears?? We need a genius.
If you were really in Mensa, you’d know it’s “Gil’s not as brilliant as I”
The past few Summers, we have had characters come back and visit. HVB, The Don, H.E. Burns, Tru(e). C’mon Henry. Bring back someone we enjoy snarking at least for 2-3 weeks.
Pac 12 basketball MVP AND Mensa? Uh huh. And with that resume, he’s not coaching major college or pro ball? He’s at a high school? Riiiiiight.
P 2.5: “I’m so smart, I made your shirt change from blue to orange and you never even noticed.”
Why use 2 characters that have similar facial hair and haircuts, and the same color shirt. Need name tags to tell them apart……..
Marty: “Well, Gil is very high-ranking in Densa, a very select group that includes Herk the Mauler, peacock-believers and other luminaries, like me.”
P 3 girl’s thought bubble: “…I wonder if Gil is on Bumble?…”
So Gil is brilliant, just not as brilliant as Luke.
Luke is great guy! Women want to be with him! Men want to be him! He’s adored by parents, players, and peers! Just ask him and he’ll tell you all about it!
This is getting really stupid.
His defense of his accusation of Gil cheating, and Marty’s reply that it’s not like Gil, is that BHHL is in Mensa and Gil is not as brilliant. Case closed! This guy’s mind is quick all right. It’s just not coherent. And speaking of coherent, Mopped Up Thorp is not always coherent itself.
Girl in P3 cannot believe her TikTok video of this interview already has over a dozen views.
Hmm, is “girl who should be working but is playing on her phone” important, or just a random one panel character that we get occasionally? Is she currently texting Mimi about what she just heard? Could be in tomorrow’s strip we see Mimi getting a text and experiencing EES. Maybe even double EES!
P-1: So sheer, even Marty can see through it. Victoria’s Secret introduces it’s newest Négligée “The Luke”.
P-2: I are smart!!!
P-3: Token minority appearance of the day
WAIT!! Marty has completely flipped, he has Multi Personality Disorder. Luke is actually Marty in a lame disguise, that’s why they look alike. And the interview is just his imagination, that’s why Luke’s name and shirt colors keep changing. In P3, the young lady is secretly taking a photo, because it’s just Marty by himself, doing the interview to an empty chair.
All of this “My mind is quick! I’m in MENSA!” implies “…and I’ve concocted a cheating scheme so brilliant that no one in this podunk town will be able to see it until it’s too late! Bwa ha ha ha ha ha!”
So, how many strips until this guy falls? I’ll set the over/under at 15…
Luke is also a lot like Gaston from Beauty and the Beast.
“I’m in Mensa” is the nerdy cousin of “I do crossfit”.
I do believe that the word balloons are attributed to the wrong people.
There is no way Big Hand Luke would say good things about Gil.
“C’mon, Keri, get in the minivan,” she said. “We’re going to visit you’re grandma who lives near the beach!…Why are you hesitating? You have such a suspicious nature! Why can’t you be more like your little brother?”
Good thing I have Liam Neeson on speed dial.
P2- …I’m smart! Not like everybody says… like dumb… I’m smart and I want respect! (The Gilfather will know what to do!)
