I suspect it’s a plot by Mrs. Angelini and Heart to get Dean’s attention. Leave clues of Heart’s clothing and then sit inside having a cup of hot chocolate while watching Dean go crazy.

All I know is that if Heart turns out to have been abducted by aliens, then “crazy” will be an understatement of what will happen to Dean.
