If you’re a bad swimmer, can you even call yourself a swimmer?

‘Tony’, eh? I think this is the first time Heart’s dad’s name has been mentioned.

It’ll be fine… For Heart, I mean; I think this might be a death flag for deadbeat daddy.

What are the chances that Heart will save her father from drowning?

Stuff him in a life jacket before he boards and things will be fine.

When I went to camp in Junior High I was good enough to qualify as an “intermediate” swimmer and I’m sure I improved by the time I graduated from High School. Since I haven’t really spent that much time in a pool since college I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to swim the width of the pool, much less the length. That’s especially true since the balance issues and leg neropathy have set in so I guess I’m no longer a swimmer.

I learned to swim real fast. My brother threw me off a dock and said “Either swim or drown”. I swam, not well, but I did.. He was not worried, there were a lot of other swimmers around.

Sounds like it should be fine for Heart to go. Maybe Tony needs to wait on the dock, though.

“I haven’t drowned yet.” is not a good reference for your mom to hear.

That recalls a classic Linus quote: “If I’m ever on an ocean liner, and it sinks four feet from shore – I’m all set!”
