Some will do anything to avoid talking to people in waiting rooms. Looks clean, so it clearly wasn’t a stand for cigarette butts, which would have been more common decades back.

I was just watching a good movie … when my wife decided I should be doing something else … and then this happened.

Maybe he is shy and/or has a hideous facial blemish that he wants the doctor to look at.
