Meh. I haven’t been able to sit through a professional sport event of any kind in decades. Life is too short to waste the two or three hours it takes to be disappointed in the outcome or so bored I fall asleep half way through and wake up after it’s over.
They want more colored Coaches. Sounds fair, now what about more white players? Say, 80%, as per the population. Bunch of hypocrites, out there, somewhere.
Brian Flores got the head coaching gig in Miami having never been a head coach at any level and never even served as an offensive coordinator or defensive coordinator in the NFL and was only 37 when they hired him. His lack of experience showed and the team’s hopes that he would grow into the job had not come to fruition. The racial discrimination in this case is that he got the job over more qualified candidates primarily because he is black/latino.
I think he would have been better off had he run an offense or defense for a few seasons before getting a head coaching job. Maybe he will, now. Many head coaches have done so after being canned and then returned later as a head coach. Flores could eventually be a successful head coach, and I hope he does.
Here’s an NFL-related story that anyone should find really cool. Anthony Harris, a safety for the Eagles, stepped up to take an 11 year-old girl to her school’s Daddy-Daughter Dance after her dad passed away from cancer. I love stories like this. My daughter and I went to her school Father Daughter Dinner Dance K-8th grade. I wonder if I kicked the bucked back then if David Ortiz or Tom Brady (we live near Boston) would have taken her to the dance? Nah, probably one of my ugly brothers :)
Sorry if the fox link triggers anyone – that’s how it was sent to me :) Besides, the fox and friends show was responsible for this as they had the mom on the show which got the word out and Harris jumped on the chance to help. Just awesome!

It’s a good ol’ (white) boys club. Women and blacks aren’t exactly disallowed, but they’re surely discouraged.

Remember, there is ONLY ONE RACE OF PEOPLE on the Planet… THE HUMAN RACE. Once we convince everyone else of that FACT, things will begin to improve.

Forget coaches, we want 20% at least minority owners. No more football until then.
