He made his jail and he’s incarcerated there. Anybody with enough sense to roll down the window before they spit would have looked at what it cost to get that job title (he doesn’t really have the job itself) and moved smoothly away so as not to trigger the “chase and kill” instinct in some of the “Freedom Caucus”.

Romney has to pay $5,000 a month for security due to constant MAGA death threats.

Mitch McConnell‘s choice to remain silent upon receiving a concerning message about a potential threat to Senator Romney’s home showcases a troubling indifference or inaction within top echelons of leadership. This event is symbolic of the larger malaise that has permeated the Republican Party—a party that once held steadfast to principles of conservative governance, fiscal responsibility, and international leadership. Schmidt’s criticism of McConnell isn’t just an isolated viewpoint; it represents a broader sentiment that political leaders are failing to address imminent threats from within and outside.

Schmidt’s words serve as a warning. The current state of the Republican Party under the influence of Donald Trump has moved away from its foundational principles — one that, while never living up to it, lips service was plausible. The real danger, however, is the insidious undermining of democracy. Schmidt’s likening of the GOP’s transformation to the Confederacy is telling. It isn’t just about a shift in policy preferences or ideological alignment; it’s about a party becoming an existential threat to the very essence of American democracy.

“On this happy day on which Rupert Murdoch has announced his retirement, let us reflect on the fact that no single individual has done more damage to Western democracy or more for the intellectual and moral decay of our society during the past half century than Rupert. Good riddance,” wrote Rothkopf.

    Weeping Angels | Doctor Who

Known as “The Lonely Assassins”, the Weeping Angels are quantum-locked alien killers, as old as the universe itself. Little is known of their origins or culture. When observed, they freeze like stone, but in the blink of an eye they can move vast distances.

’We’re not there yet’: GOP lawmaker hasn’t seen any evidence to ‘get anywhere near impeachment’

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) hasn’t seen anything worthy of impeachment dredged up by the House Republican investigations of President Joe Biden and his family. The New York Republican, who recently ripped his GOP colleagues as a “clown show” over their failure to produce a government spending agreement, told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that he’s dubious of the impeachment inquiry launched by House speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and suggested the process was being undertaken as revenge for Donald Trump’s two impeachments.
