Funny thing about Prestige , Not worth anything when you have it , Very Valuable when you have none !

It’s worth it to one’s reputation to back an ally but that is not a blank check to support all of their actions.

Osama bin Laden orchestrated the 9/11 attack in order to goad the US into a war. It worked, how could it not? Hamas committed the October 7 attack in order to get thousands of Palestinians killed thus instigating a wider conflict involving Syria and Lebanon. I don’t see how the Israeli response could have been anything other than what it has been. And yet somehow Israel is to blame.

This toon is a good many years off, maybe back to 2016-2019. Biden has returned the US to having worldwide respect, while Israel is about the same. Its systematic expulsion of Palestinians has kept Israel’s world rating at just above 3rd world.

Russia has been a horror show for 900 years – yet they continue to bedevil the world – and even to find some support in the U.N. “Prestige” doesn’t stop tanks. “How many divisions does the Pope have?”- Stalin

U.S. prestige is up, and certainly not as depicted. Biden has pulled the reins in on Netanyahu, and achieved a “pause” with the release of hostages.

Many Americans have no idea what is going on with Israel. Biden is walking the fine line of upholding the U.S. pledge to guarantee Israel’s right to exist while fighting Netanyahu’s policies of expansion that violate agreements made since 1948. Netanyahu’s settlements are in lands that were agreed not to be settled by Israel. The more accurate comparison would be Hitler’s policy of ‘Lebensraum’. Netanyahu’s policies are to take lands with settlers for Israel’s growth, ’more “elbow room”.

Biden has done a good job aiding in the negotiations to release hostages and for the current ceasefire.

People forget, Biden can influence this, but is not responsible for the situation. More importantly, Israel may be an ally, but it is not a US state and not under Biden’s authority. Even so, his leadership is showing through in the release of both Palestinian hostages and those taken hostage during Hamas’s horrific terrorist attack in Israel. People from many different countries taken hostage for just being where they were supposed to be.

Not going to voice my guess for why Hamas is cooperating, but I’m going to think it has to do with intelligence Orange Traitor is not longer privileged to see, and did not steal and share with Putin.

Israel had Hamas plans a year ago

Israel’s military and intelligence officials were given a highly detailed warning that Hamas was actively training to take over kibbutzim on the Gaza border and overrun military posts with the aim of inflicting substantial fatalities, according to reports in the Israeli media.

The claim made by Israel’s Channel 12 on Monday evening was based on leaked emails from the Israeli military’s 8200 cyber-intelligence unit discussing the warnings.

Those emails revealed that a senior officer who reviewed the intelligence considered the danger of a massive surprise attack by Hamas across the Gaza border to be “an imaginary scenario”.

The hugely embarrassing leak describes in shocking detail what would turn out to be key elements of Hamas’s planning for its massacre of 1,200 Israelis on 7 October, including that Israel spotters were aware of senior Hamas officials present as observers during training preparations.

According to the leaked emails, Hamas went as far as giving the mocked-up kibbutz used in training a name and even practised raising a flag over its synagogue.

Plans were also intercepted that discussed overrunning a border military base and killing all of its occupants.

While much of the focus of recent scrutiny for the intelligence failure before the 7 October attack has looked at what information was available to senior political and military figures, including Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, the new leaks and briefings suggest serious failings within the Israel Defense Forces’ intelligence reporting and distribution system as well.
