^And watching the height above the tramp these folks get! WHOOHEEEEEEEE! Lot’s of events to watch, but I was in track and X country, my brother was selected for the team back in 59 but was killed in a car accident before the olympics.
Mitt by the way was WINTER OLYMPICS, but I watch them too as a skier and 22 years on ski patrol.
The saber or foil might be as “civilized” a way to determine the election as what we’re getting, and it WOULD be a lot more entertaining.

I work in London and live near the rowing competition venue (where I usually cycle around the small lake). I do get it. All the time. I made my escape a week before the Olympics started. Where I am now, I have no TV and actually missed the opening ceremony. But I did manage an internet connection a week ago. I can get the high-lights, I suppose…I enjoyed Niger’s participation on my lake! That was cool. (see? That was my high-light!)Sadly I return just in time to still be affected by the games. (I get to bitch ‘cos I’m paying for part of it).@rvald01: I agree. Even the “idiot” part although I never really use ad hominems.
No, it aren’t. That was my point, as it were. I guess my joke missed the target. I will have to be barred from further comment. I have to say, however, that I like the little quirky sports, like skeet shooting, and I think it’s a shame they don’t get more coverage.

I can hardly wait for those first two weeks of diving and rhythmic gymnastics.

Yeah! Two fantastic weeks of TV! Wish the events weren’t scheduled priority according to USA Time. Awkward for us in the rest of the world.

If draft dodging were an Olympic event, Romney the ChickenHawk would medal.

You boys don’t get the Olympics. This is a peaceful way to compete instead of going off to War.….and I for one will be rooting for USA.

I’ll be rooting for the men’s swim teams to return to those little speedos.
