Nine bystanders hit by “trained” folks, what would “amateurs” have done? It’s a lot different than shooting at the range, even a “combat course”. More guns does just result in more folks getting hit. It’s called “combat”.
I used to be very much in favor of tougher gun control laws. Now I suspect that the US is so crazy that nothing will help. Give it up. Start over. With a new Constitution. And new political parties.
Ima evidently is unaware of any reasoning or fact outside of his or her own skull. There are many reasons to provide reasonable restrictions on gun ownership. Liberals have well-thought-out stands on many issues, which they have been willing to explain, even on this list. By contrast, Ima’s response is “no they don’t!” And Ima thinks liberals leave their brains at home?
A few nuts, 16, turned 757’s into weapons. The U.S. has spent billions to keep airliners out of the hands of nuts, and inconvenienced every traveler in the world, because “weapons must be controlled”.
Guns are DESIGNED to be lethal weapons. Cars are regulated. Airplanes are regulated. But we shouldn’t control INTENTIONALLY DESIGNED actual weapons, to “regulate” who has access, as the Constitution actually mandates?
I don’t. That’s probably why bad guys get their guns by stealing the ones that are legally obtained. Everytime you “buy” a gun that’s just one more for them to get.
You want to imply mental problems? Yesterday, my wife was having a garage sale at our house and as two middle aged guys came up the driveway I noticed the one with the biggest swagger was “packen” at his hip. (Oh look at me! look at me! I got a real gun! … oops .. Sorry). Anyhow, back to the story .. Well, when they left my neighbor, who knows more about these things than I do …. I gave up my last guns when I was 10…. A nice two gun Hop along Cassidy set …Sorry, once again, I digress… I said, No What? My neighbor said “that man’s gun was cocked in the holster”…. but guns don’t kill people people do ….
A man walks into my yard with a cocked and loaded hand gun strpped to his hip and I’m the nut case….. have you been taking your meds? You really should go someplace for a nice loooong rest.
NOT A LIBERAL. I JUST HAVE SOME SENSE. There is no good reason for a man to come into my yard with a cocked and loaded gun on his hip unless he is looking for trouble or is a cop. With your “thought process (?)” I hope they keep you HEAVLY medicated as you’re a danger to others. Don’t much care what you do to yourself … your already heavily damaged.
^ “A WELL REGULATED MILITIA”— it IS the Constitution, not your “dream world”, BTW, the Articles of Confederation, the earlier document the Constitution was supposed to “clarify”, called for THE STATES to control arms, and pass them out to the militia, ONLY WHEN NEEDED to defend the nation FROM OUTSIDE AGGRESSION!
Breeana: M-16 roughly 700 rounds per minute. A strictly military “minigun” 7.62 – 7,000 rounds per minute. (pay the tax etc, and automatic weapons CAN be purchased by civilians) Bow and arrow are actually much faster than the muskets of 1792, and a pistol was even slower, actually. M-79 grenade launcher with “shotgun round”, equal to five 12 gauge shotgun rounds with a single shot. Musket range 100 feet with some accuracy, M-16 760 yards, Barrett .50 caliber (civilian version) roughly 2,000 yards , depending on skill. Colt .45 “peacemaker” accurate to around 20 yards max., Glock .45 pretty accurate at 60 yards, and instead of 6 rounds, has 8-15 depending on magazine and hundreds of rounds per minute, instead of six.
Yes, had the founding fathers foreseen the firepower now available to CIVILIANS in America, they would have stuck with the Articles of Confederation, and maybe, wisely limited “civilian weapons” to a maximum of five rounds for a hunting rifle or shotgun, and 8 or at most 12 rounds for a pistol magazine, as we should NOW!
A lot of the fascination of gun nuts (NOT “gun owners”) is with the simple “jock itch” element, not protection, or defense of the Constitution. NObody needs to defend the Constitution in a school, church, or supermarket. The recent shooting in a Wal Mart back east was an example of why carry should be restricted, not made “easier”. Also, over the weekend the massive NUMBER OF SHOOTINGS in Chicago over the weekend, IS just as, if not MORE relevant than “mass shootings”.

If “More guns = More safety,” then why isn’t the US the safest country on the planet?

All the people who left their guns at home are called victims.

Please have your gun in hand when you come to visit my house. You will find out how much I hate guns.

I’m kind of partial to the GAU-8 Avenger. Trying to figure out how mount it on my 96 Ranger.
