Hurry, hurry, hurry! Step right up. Place your bets. Round and round and round she goes. Where she’ll stop nobody knows. (Carnival music is playing in the background).
Once caucus/primary limitations are laid out, the field will be narrowed to those the party thinks have some chance of winning. Not necessarily the best of the lot, but those who seem to favor the party line, however biased and obtuse it may be.
What we are missing is that there is an incredible field of great talent offering themselves up. Granted, most of them will drop out after Iowa, but let us for a moment simply enjoy the fact that we have such smart, hard working folks out there. I like Warren, Harris, Buttigieg, as well as the old war horse Sanders. I don’t love Biden all that much, but as long as he moves toward the more progressive policies of the others, I’d be okay. And let’s face it, a sweaty gym sock would be better than what we have now. But in order for a Dem president to have much impact, we need the House and the Senate, too!
If nothing else.. it is educating some that there are other qualified folk out there.. and it certainly gives the media an opportunity to fill in some air time.
My first choice is Warren. She’s everything I would want in a candidate. But, yes, I will vote for the sweaty gym sock if that’s what’s running against Trump. At least it can’t do any harm.
It’s time to be paying attention. Kamala Harris was just on the regular TV channel last night pointing out that she’s running as pro-teacher first. Not a bad plank, but not the person I’m rooting for.
