After killing two people and wounding a third, Kyle Rittenhouse put his arms up and walked by the police and then drove across state lines to his home.
“These armed men who have no connection to even the state. The guy is from out of town. So think about how ridiculous that is,” Wisconsin Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes said. “Who is he accountable to? Nobody. And for him to even be able to shoot somebody and walk away from the scene. You know they talk about finding a knife inside the car, not even on Jacob Blake’s person. This guy is carrying a long gun, killed somebody just walking freely was able to get back home to Illinois. Then you know we got much bigger problems on our hands.”
And they tried to excuse it because protestors were out after curfew, as if that makes them open game for any RW whacko with a gun. If he were black, he’d have been Swiss cheese even if he were unarmed.
While witnesses were telling police that Rittenhouse was the shooter, the police were more concerned with getting Rittenhouse safely away from the scene (because he’s White, and must be protected).
As Tucker Carlson said, “He was doing law and order because nobody else would.” Typical Republican sentiment. Human life is trivial when compared to peace and quiet enforced with rubber bullets, tear gas and uniformed mobs under government control.
This is the reason we arm white people.
Ironically, according to a Trump commercial if Joe Biden were president, he would have taken his gun away.
Remember, those people who got shot would not be safe in Joe Biden’s America.
Forgive me for repeating myself. Had Kyle Rittenhouse been a 17 year old black youth, strolling down the street with an assault rifle passing police officers and tactical vehicles, I wonder how long he would have lived?
Black men have gotten shot: holding a wallet-a candy bar-and a cell phone. Black people have been shot while jogging-while sleeping in their own homes and even sitting in their own apartment, while sitting on the couch, eating ice cream! I would go on, but it would take up too much space!
It’s starting to look less like a white nationalist taking advantage of chaos to commit murder and more like a kid who thought he could help, got attacked and may have acted in self defense. Right now it looks to me that he may have overreacted, but it’s a far cry from murder one. One of the attackers had a gun leveled at the kid. There’s an investigation ongoing and there’s more info to come, I’m sure.
And of course guy misses the whole point of the cartoon. A black kid who thought he could help by showing up with an AR-15 would have been shot down by the police as soon as he was noticed. Whatever the particular circumstances of the shootings, a black kid would have been killed by the police or at best arrested. The white kid was not.
Nothing is new under the sun, today is just a variation of the same theme from Shakespeare’s “Merchant of Venice”: “I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer as a Christian is? If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that. If a Jew wrong a Christian, what is his humility? Revenge. If a Christian wrong a Jew, what should his sufferance be by Christian example? Why, revenge. The villainy you teach me I will execute, and it shall go hard but I will better the instruction.”
Finally someone gets it. He shot someone. Other protesters chase him down. He shoots at them. Then the police rescues him and condemns the protesters as the violent criminals. Kyle drives home without being questioned by officers as to what events transpired. That ladies and gentlemen is American rule of law today. We saw it with the vigilantes that killed Ahmaud Arbery. We saw it with the cops that killed Breonna Taylor. We saw it with the vigilante that killed Trayvon Martin. The only people that have the right to claim murder as self-defense are not the people who are protesting and demanding civil justice for the victims.

5 lawyers have volunteered to defend him, of course. Blake may get a public defender.

I just read the article from CNN. Rittenhouse is 17. His parents are so screwed.

White vs black. Not once stopped by the police. A great illustration of why the riots are occurring..

Don’t be harsh on the police.. they know, by definition.. that a white man with a gun is a good guy. It’s right in the NRA manual.. P14.. paragraph 6.

I’m surprised Rittenhouse and the right-wingers who shot the federal agent in Oakland weren’t keynote speakers at the Republican National Convention.

There is a picture of Kyle’s mother fully armed, she is a gun nut.
She gave her boy a gun he could not legally posses and drove him across a state line. He murdered two strangers and they drove back home.
This is Trump’s Amerika.
