Twitter and Facebook have turned off his account temporarily. And committee chairmen on both sides of the aisle are talking Amendment 25, though the ones on the right are calling it a “last ditch attempt to get his attention.”
22 hours ago, before the travesty of having our national capitol attacked, entered, and defiled by people who call them selves good citizen, I wrote in part:
. . . So much for the peaceful transfer of power. The legend has now been tarnished for generations to come. It’s like watching a cherished friend age and become less able. Sad, . . .
Little did I even dream events would reach the point of the invasion that took place yesterday. I doubt many Americans did. To say I am saddened and deeply disappointed doesn’t come close to describing my horror at what I saw. The shame of it.
I think it unfortunate that the worst that could happen to Trump is impeachment. He deliberately worked to bring about what happened at the US Capitol Building yesterday. Revoking his citizenship might not be possible but it should be considered.
From today, my use of Trump’s name or my comic substitute for that odious name or oblique references will not appear in these comics. He no longer exists.
I cannot draw a political cartoon, so I will describe it. The scene is Frankenstein’s laboratory. The monster strapped to the table is Trump. The doctor is McConnel and his assistant is Cruz.
The caption is, “Don’t worry Igor, we can control him.”
I wonder if all the Republican Senators and Representatives who gave the objections to the Electoral College vote a standing ovation are proud today?
For two months the majority of Republican legislators have been heaping logs on what was to become Trump’s bonfire. All he had to do is strike a match. They gave validation to his lies. They encouraged his followers to believe these lies. Today as the fire still smolders, they “condemn” the violence in tepid terms.
They are the ones who put Trump in power in 2016. They are the ones who railroaded Trump’s appointments through the Senate. They are the one who enabled him on all of his immoral acts for the past 4 years. They are the ones who acquitted Trump during his impeachment. They are the ones who kissed Trump’s ass for 4 years. They are the ones who hitched their political wagon to this star and NOW they want to dump him?
Yesterday we heard more lies and rhetoric from Trump.
We did not hear from Pence, or Cruz, or McConnell (who was still the majority leader at the time) or any of the other GOP leaders other than some tepid comments.
We did hear from President Biden (might as well give him the title, he’s officially and legally earned if) and Nancy Pelosi. They are the ones who took command. They are the ones who offered words to inspire confidence and faith. They are the ones who got the Government back on its feet and working.
Yesterday, we had a crisis. When a crisis happens, leaders emerge. We now know who the shepherds are and who are the sheep.
25th Amendment is too late. The statute gives four days for the treasonous orange to respond. It also requires a majority of the cabinet, and orange-y fired any potential cabinet members who might support the move. Elaine Chao (sp?, Mrs Moscow Mitch) resigned last night. As Adam Schiff told us last January, “HE WILL DO IT AGAIN!” Why are we surprised?
The Republican Party received a rather harsh wake-up call yesterday. And as Congress reconvened, several prominent Republicans seem to have gotten the message. Of course, being removed from your place of business for your own protection from your own “followers” can do that to you. I realize this semi-reconciliation is probably only temporary, but it was heartening to hear in any case.
Jeff, please observe the videos of the incident. The characters you portray here are not representative of those people. They were trailer trash from Duck Dynasty. Fat, bearded, morons.
Even after the insurrection, a majority of the Republican lawmakers still supported Osama bin Trump’s bid to overturn democracy. They still objected to the Electoral College results. Yes, rioters, you were right, the election was stolen and you’ve been wronged. We support you, God and Trump to put them in the proper order – MAGA.
Question remains: preparations to defend the Capitol obviously weren’t in place. Why not? With all the glaring, blatant indicators, WHY NOT??
That’s the source of my anger today. What is a Capitol Police Force doing allowing those people to trample , , ,
Ah, the Hell with it. It is done and there should be a thousand facing the most stringent penalties and more in jail and the rest running from the law. Won’t happen.
However, got to agree with some viewers who contrasted this one with earlier marches where tear gas was applied like air freshener. These people are getting off easy all around.
Back when Stephen Colbert was doing his Original Show, there was an episode where he pulled a Pitchfork out from under his desk during a routine about Congressional Corruption.
That Pitchfork got the Largest round of applause of any routine he ever did on that show.
Now here’s the truth. I read it in some social media group and heard it on Fox News and some Republican lawmakers are saying it too, so you can believe it 110%. It was ANTIFA that ransacked the Capitol.
Here is what the liberal media didn’t show or tell you. The peaceful Trump-loving crowd started to march towards the Capitol. Along the way, they were mugged (all thousands of them) by ANTIFA thugs who stole their Trump and Confederate flags (pretty much the same thing) and a Jesus flag or two. Then every one of the Trumpians, without reporting anything to the police about the mugging, went home.
There is proof. A lot of it. Bigly proof. They’ll provide it along with all the proof of election fraud from the 2016 and 2020 elections along with the paid invoice from Mexico for Trump’s wall and Obama’s Kenyan birth certificate and a piece of the alien craft that crashed at Roswell . It’s coming. Any day now. You’ll see. Just you wait. You’ll be singing a different tune when they show it to you. Uh-huh. Yes. … Oh and MAGA y’all.

I can’t believe this cartoon posted after the damage the Trump hordes did to the capitol.
On a brighter note, crazy Trump’s poorly put together rebellion failed so bad that even the republicans are talking 25th Amendment.

Some other observations. A Trump flag on a pole flying ABOVE the American Flag – Patriotic that is.
A woman in a U.S. Navy uniform. She’ll get an article 15 bad-conduct dismissal so she can face the civilian charges.
A Jesus flag. Using Jesus to promote Trump’s political agenda isn’t using the Name of the Lord thy God in Vain, I guess.
