While we’re at it, we better ban that book with MASSIVE amounts of Incest, Genocide, Murder, Rape, and more in it so our kids can’t read about it. It’s called “THE BIBLE”!!
Honest question, because I’m not American. Is Math text book a generic term for school program books? Otherwise, what would history have to do with a math book? I was in school long ago and not in the USA but there was no mention of history or social studies or whatever that could be censored in our math books. In our history books yes, of course. Just curious.
It’s a tradition. Didn’t the approved Texas school books teach that Texas seceded to protect state right even tho’ it mentions Preserving slavery over two dozen times? Sounds like a Jim Crow tradition.
It is worth noting that Ronald Dion DeSantis received ALL of his higher education outside his home state of Florida, even though I’m told that Florida has many fine schools in the post K-12 level.
It seems that little Ronnie D. is extremely well suited for his role as a “selective education” activist!
(You don’t have to be “crazy” to run the asylum – but it doesn’t hurt, either.)
FL does not have much of a history for responsible education. Fifty years ago the kids who came out of FL for college had a rough row to hoe. They struggled lots more than the MS kids did.
that’s not true only the public school kids will be under educated the private school kids still get the education they’re paying for because the government has no say over what is taught in private school

A Florida education is probably not worth the paper the diploma is written on.

Look on the bright side, they can cut twelve years of public schooling down to nine. Think of the savings.

How much is 2 + 2
Accountant: 4
Carpenter: 3 31/32 – oh heck 4.
Lawyer: How much do you want it to be?
GOP: They rigged it. They say it’s 4 but we are still recounting.
Florida: We don’t know; math textbooks have been banned.

Parents and community should not “protect” children from reality, they should prepare children for reality.

Not if Republicans take over the government permanently and create their Republican paradise.

Since the books are not taking out anything to do with Civil Rights, I think they will be okay.
