I think most people are pro-life. But some are more understanding about the need for choice. Also noticed many “pro-lifers” are pro- death penalty.

Most folks, I think, don’t spend time trying to be consistent. They do what feels good / right to them at the time, in the circumstances.

Don’t forget all the ‘pro-life’ people who are squarely in favor of capital punishment.

    1/6 – Never forget.

    1/8 – Nunca se esqueça.

Gun people have repeatedly demonstrated the lives and safety of others mean absolutely nothing to them.

They’re only “pro life” until the baby is born, then the kids are on their own.

There were 20,138 deaths by firearms in the United States last year. According to the GOP, that’s acceptable: none of them were fetuses.

This is not a fair criticism: a number of these deaths were suicides. It’s difficult to cram an AR-15 into a uterus.

The progressive side is anti-capital punishment (don’t kill murderers) but pro abortion (kill babies).

Gun enthusiasts will call anyone who hasn’t yet committed a crime with a gun a “responsible gun owner”. This is about the lowest bar one can devise.

TSA found over 6000 guns in carry-on luggage last year alone. A majority were loaded. “I didn’t know it was in there,” was the most common response.

If you don’t know where your loaded gun is, and if you can’t notice that there is a loaded gun in your luggage while you are PACKING it, you are NOT a responsible gun owner.

It’s time to stop pretending. Time to start talking. Inarguable point number one: if there are no guns around, no one gets shot.

Inarguable point number two: we can all agree that there are some people who should not have the ability to own a gun. Figuring out who and how is the hard part. But “thoughts and prayers” are not sufficient, and never were.

For every person who believes that guns make people safe, there is at least one other person who wants to go grocery shopping and not end up in a body bag. Deal with it.

Leave it to Sammy to equate a living being with experiences and memories to a non-thinking sack of cells that couldn’t live without a host. I can see where he could relate though.
