We’ve been downwind from several forest fires. I’ve been wearing my “covid” mask when I go outside for a couple, maybe three weeks now. It makes the breathing better, but my eyes know all about that smoke!

And that mask is about as useless now as it was 3.5 years ago. But it does make for nice window dressing so people can FEEL like they’re safer, but in reality they truly are not.

If, as indicated in early reports, the effect of the newer strains is worse than the original, this won’t be a joke for long.

I got my Booster Covid yesterday, If I need a mask, I’ll wear one. One piece of advise for everyone: don’t attend any Trump rallies. The nastiest stuff gets spread at those.

It’s another opportunity for Magats to embrace scientific reality or to choose to further cull their numbers by choosing stupidity. It’s a pretty safe be as to which they’ll choose.

We should all know by now that masks offer virtually no resistance to Covid. That is one reason Fauci told us all not to wear masks. And he is the entomology expert.

Oh not this (censored) again. If it’s not wildfires, flooding, earthquakes or killer heatwaves we still have to deal with Covid yet again

Frankly, I don’t care if you do or do not wear a mask. But I do request, since it’s a matter of “personal freedom,” that you leave me alone if choose to wear one, as a matter of “personal freedom.” I never ask anyone to “agree” with my choices, I but do expect my choice be “respected.”

When I wear a mask, I wear two masks: an N95 and a paper mask.

There are a couple of reasons for this.

First, the paper mask “protects” the N95 and I can get more wear out of it.

Secondly, I wear one mask for you to protect you from me and the other on behalf of the people who refuse to wear them to protect myself.

But mainly it’s to defy people like Tucker Carlson who gag at the thought of wearing a mask. I’m 74 years old and I guess my lungs are in better shape than Tucker’s.

Do masks work? I was at a gathering recently. I was getting over a cold, so I decided to wear my masks for the sake of other people. Several people at the gathering came down with Covid. I didn’t.

According to my wife and the CDC (who have been noted to change their minds). If you have the option to hold off on the booster for about a month, do so.

The new strain is very similar to something that has been seen before and the new booster, soon to be released, is designed to deal with it.

If you are immune compromised or have other conditions, talk to your doctor.

Moderna and others are advertising heavily for their booster shots. But they haven’t announced any changes to the composition of the boosters in almost two years. I don’t think the virus will be quite as accommodating.

I find it interesting that people who moan and groan and insult people who wear masks, DRESS IN SHEETS WITH HOODS! They find no problem doing so!

Around my hometown, many people wore masks, at least at first. Many wore them around their mouths but left the nose uncovered. Many more wore them around their necks.

But they were “wearing masks”. And they got sick. So, obviously, masks don’t work.

If you wear earplugs in your nostrils and hang around heavy artillery fire, you will lose your hearing. If you wear your safety glasses on your wrist and work with a grinder or do some welding, your eyes will be compromised. How hard is that?

I remember the early days of the pandemic, when Fox “News” commentators would downplay the possible carnage while sitting behind a huge poster that said “Pandemic”, with the letters “D,E,M” highlighted in a different color.

Those millions who died from it worldwide would argue that it was not a hoax, nor was it politically motivated. It killed indiscriminately.

And they still, to this day, claim to be a “news organization”. What a country….

I stopped wearing a mask in June, started thinking about re-masking in September.. Shoulda started sooner. Saturday, feeling normal till ~ 2:00 ish then, suddenly felt perhaps I had a touch of fever.. 103.2 {eek} Took a rapid Covid test and tested positive {double eek}. Other than running a high temp, a nasal drip and some fatigue I feel fine. Temperature back to normal on Monday so hoping I am past the worst of it. Oh, and I probably passed it on to my wife who is now running a higher temperature.

It still fits and it still doesn’t work / makes a different but hey!! There’s a new covid « vacine » that kinda sorta work on mice… and dont get upset cause Pfizer just made 100 billion from the vax so they cant afford any kind of trails with humans but if something go wrong from taking it you can sue them… in 75 years

Let’s hear all the reasons why wearing masks are bad:

Masks keep you from breathing. It’s a wonder doctors and operating room staff don’t pass out during operations.

Masks are not 100% effective. True, neither are seat belts.

Masks do not filter out the incredibly small viruses. True again, but the viruses infect by traveling on water droplets that are exhaled, and these are filtered out.

It’s my body and I can do what I want with it. It’s my fist and I can do what I want with it. Both can be used to injure other people.

The United States’ obsession for not wearing masks resulted in our having 5 times the per captia death rate of the world at large. About 800,000 of the deaths could have been prevented. Apparently 800,000 deaths due to Covid or guns is acceptable to our leaders.

Think about that the next time you are in a voting booth.

For a year my coworkers and I worked together, masking up and social distancing (20-30 people depending on our schedules). We took care of customers outside. NOBODY got sick, though two had to quarantine due to exposure by family members. Were we just lucky? I know I was lucky to have an employer and coworkers who cared about each other!
