We have seen the enemy, and it is us. We have allowed the GOP to stop every attempt to save the world.

Some MAGAs would actually cheer for the slate-wiping asteroid, because it would kill all the “libs”, too.

BTW. there has been a huge pouring of investment funds into green-energy factories in the South, which has been ignored by the right wing media. After all, it’s perfectly fine to crap in our own nest.

Still watching the doomsday (Thwaites) glacier, which would inundate the coasts of Florida and the Gulf states. But hey, it’s all a “hoax”, isn’t it?

Actually, the planet doesn’t care if it heats up and kills off most of the life on it now. It started without life, and there have been millions of species that have gone extinct during its existence.

As for the inhabitants? Only one species now has the ability to make changes and keep things habitable at the current levels. Otherwise, it will also have to adapt to new conditions which will likely include eliminating most of the population, which will also address the issue in another way.

The planet continues in any case, with or without life or dominant species.

We’re below the average temperature of the Earth and currently in a cool period. For most of our history it was about 10 C degrees warmer.

Even the Dems know that we cannot control the climate and our reducing CO2 will do nothing. It’s not about the weather or climate. It’s all about redistribution of wealth and accumulation of power and control over our lives. That’s how fascists roll.

God might be getting angry with us, as HE or SHE already had set the date for the end of Earth, but we are interfering by advancing that date considerably!

I guess I always saw God in a “wait and see” mode. I definitely think She won’t be “nudged” by the Evangelicals who hate Jews but support Israel anyway because they think in so doing they will hasten the “rapture.” Or something.

Some believe EVs are the panacea to climate change. Never mind the massive environmental and human destruction going on in the DRC to mine cobalt, including children. Read the book Cobalt Red, it’s an eye opener.

The earth will be okay. ‘She’ doesn’t care who or what inhabits her.

The dumb GOP dude may use anything as an excuse to not care about the environment, but the real reason is money. With the Arctic all but melted away, it is easier to get at the offshore oil reserves hidden there. The higher CO2 levels have increased the temp in the Arctic region more than elsewhere and melting its ice covering. The lack of reflective surface increases the temp even more and aids in fossil fuel extraction. So for some peoples that care more their dinero than the environment, climate change is an opportunity to get rich regardless of the future cost down the road.

She’s been whining for ever, best to ignore her and enjoy what there is before it’s all gone. Besides, there an excellent chance that Bibi and his merry men in the middle east will beat mother nature in destroying mankind.

Developed collaboratively by Yale, Columbia, and the WEF, the EPI ranks 180 countries based on 40 indicators across 11 categories, focusing on ecosystem vitality, climate change, and environmental health.

7 countries—Denmark, United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, Luxembourg, Austria, and Switzerland—have remained on the list of the world’s 10 cleanest countries (highest EPI scores) since 2020.

Denmark tops the 2022 list with an EPI of 77.9, showcasing excellence in wastewater treatment and effective greenhouse gas reduction policies.

The average EPI score among the 10 cleanest countries dropped from approximately 80.07 in 2020 to 73.5 in 2022, a decline of around 6.57 points.

But per capita is a more realistic dataset — accounts for size differences — ∴ showing how it affects us
