Well, I foresee bankruptcy and/or relocation for this group within a decade. There are MULTIPLE reasons Honolulu hasn’t had pro football since the World League folded in 1974. Travel costs, very few resources can be sourced locally (driving up costs of EVERYTHING).
And then there’s the local climate. The year round warm and humid air plus salt from the oceans make any and all exposed metals (of which there is A LOT in an outdoor stadium) rust and corrode at warp speed, meaning increased upkeep costs. It’s the reason Aloha Stadium (once the largest stadium in Ha’waii) went from brand-new to rusted-out abandoned hulk in less than four decades.
I know “It’s just a comic” but come on now. There were FAR more realistic choices (like Marcus’ former home, San Diego).
I don’t see why Marcus is nervous about the cost of the stadium. It’s not like the people who own them or make money from them actually pay for them to be built and maintained. That’s for the city to do

The stadium looks nice, but there is not much seating for fans.

The Chicago Cubs once tried “revolving coaches” in place of managers. It was a disaster—-nodody could agree on anything.
