Marrying a US citizen to not get deported is a myth. My son married a Chinese women he met while living in China. When they came here I had to sponsor her, using my house as security. They had to show all sorts of evidence that they were a real couple, plane tickets, receipts, all sorts of things. Then it took ages for her to get a green card. She spoke perfect English, had two Masters degrees, and wanted to study to become a nurse, and we know we have a huge nurse shortage. After two years our side decided she could come here.
