While doing Last Kiss I go through a lot of old comic art. Sometimes I come across something so unusualāand provocativeāthat I think readers will get a kick seeing it. So much so that thereās no need for me to add or replace any dialogue.
Todayās comic was one of those cases. My question for readers is: Would you like to see more wild comic art as is when I find something interesting. Let me know. Thanks!
(Iāve posted the original 1943 cover for this comic book on my site.)
One of my favorites is that The Blackhawks, a strip designed to show international cooperation against the Axis, used a bucktoothed Chinese character to represent Asia.
I know comics ā going way back ā are largely about fantasy, etcā¦but the He-She character might be as weird as it gets. EsPESHially being drawn in the 40ās???
There have always been and will always be cross dressers and female, and male, impersonators. There will always be gender dysphoria. There are ā but VERY rarely ā true hermaphrodites. But, contrary to fashionable thoughts and wishes, one cannot change oneās sex / gender at will.
This reminds me of the sideshow 1/2 man 1/2 woman that seems to have been a staple of carnivals. Never saw one myself (but by the time I came along, the sideshow was all but gone.)
He/She mustāve had a very strange walk. And which half wouldāve won the āhow to peeā battle? Stand or sit, stand or sit, stand or sitā¦uh oh. Too lateā¦

āHow did He-She seduce soā¦ without being discovered?ā
I haveāt the foggiest, but there were women who dressed as men and fought in the Civil War. How did that work? Did they never bathe?

Huh. I wonder if that was the inspiration for what they dressed me up as, for a costume for Sports Day at my elementary school, back in the ā50ās.

This seems like a Dick Tracy villain such as āHalf-and-Halfā. Did He-She have an accident in a pharmaceuticals lab?

I started wondering about male parts being split lengthwise, then I decided to try to NOT think about that.
