A more poetically elegant and efficient rhymer would have the same number of syllables with the same stress/unstress pattern. Infundibulate comes to mind.
I am always amazed and frankly shaken at how many people simply do not have any understanding of what constitutes a rhyme.
Overpopulate does almost rhyme with discombobulate; appreciate, procrastinate, castrate, emulate, cogitate, and most of the other suggestions given simply do not.
The main accented syllable in discombobulate is bob, so the main accented syllable in any word or phrase that rhymes with discombobulate would have to rhyme with bob, with the ensuing syllables then perfectly matching the syllables that come after bob: obulate, dobulate, gonflobulate, or constrobulate, for example. But as far as I know those aren’t real words, so they don’t count.
Lobulate would be good if it existed as a verb, but it seems to exist only as an adjective, which is pronounced lobulit rather than with a long a in the final syllable. But I may be wrong: there is apparently a word lobulated, and that would certainly rhyme with discombobulated.
“Miss, come sob ‘you ate’.” Granted, it’s rare that you want a weeping woman to tell somebody that they have eaten. And naturally, it’s not one word, but five of them.
I don’t get it. What’s the joke? I came to the comments hoping someone had said, but it’s just people coming up with words that rhyme with “combobulate”. Did you all get the joke?

If you’re feeling discombobulated, can you describe what it felt like to be simply combulated?

After you make it through the discombobulation of a TSA checkpoint, you can “recombobulate.”
