If Lisa Benson hadn’t been so quick to drop out of college, barely after starting, she might have stuck around long enough to get just enough education to know that…

    • The Filibuster is not in the Constitution

    • The Filibuster originated by Southern racists to block efforts to allow rights for African Americans

    • The Filibuster has already been changed more than 160 times, going back to the 1960’s

The Filibuster is an undemocratic method that, today, ensures that senate Republicans — who already represent FORTY-ONE MILLION FEWER VOTERS than Democrats because of the disproportionate allocation of representation in the senate — to further distort their undemocratic advantage, such that senators representing 16% of the population can block efforts supported by senators representing 84% of the population.

Originally, the filibuster originated from a senate rule allowing “unlimited debate.” To block legislation, someone had to actually stand on the floor and speak, including handoffs to allies. As a result, while it allowed opposition voices to be heard, it was rarely used to actually stop legislation. Those invoking filibuster had to be in the chamber and actually hold the floor.

I’ve changed my mind on the filibuster. I think Dems should nuke it. I’m certain that once Rs are back in power, they won’t pass national voter ID, national concealed carry, national school vouchers, and they won’t outlaw federal employee unions, or multiple voting days either. Yes, Dems, nuke the filibuster.

Well, for once, Lisa’s point is correct. There is little chance of a filibuster change with the lack of votes on the Dem side. But, Schumer is making his Dem colleagues, especially the two renegades, put their vote on the record. Perhaps, he reasons, this vote might just be the screws that will effect change in their vote. Yes, Lisa, it is all about politics. And you were expecting what in a politically elected body?

The hypocrisy overflows in this one: Democrats used the Senate filibuster, which they are busy trying to eliminate, to block a bill by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Thursday that would have sanctioned companies associated with Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline. The bill had 55 votes.

The filibuster requires 60 votes to end debate and move to a final vote, which meant that despite the 55-44 margin, and the votes of five Democrats in favor, the bill could not advance — a win for President Joe Biden’s approach to talks with Russia.

The Biden administration allowed the Nord Stream 2 pipeline to proceed last year — after shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline project in the U.S. to appease environmentalists — saying that the project was too close to completion to reverse.

President Donald Trump had sought to block Nord Stream 2 because it would have made Europe more dependent on Russia’s natural gas, increasing President Vladimir Putin’s leverage in the west and his ability to circumvent pipelines in Ukraine.

Critics were livid at Democrats — and at the establishment media, which pushed the false “Russia collusion” conspiracy theory against Trump while ignoring Democrats’ efforts to appease Russia, even as Putin has amassed troops on the border with Ukraine and threatened to invade.https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2022/01/14/democrats-use-dreaded-filibuster-to-block-ted-cruz-bill-sanctioning-russias-pipeline/

Washington Cashes In on Inflation Individual income tax receipts rose 55% in the first fiscal quarter.

Average wages for workers falls behind inflation, as they did last year by 2.4%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. A 7% rate of inflation is Christmas all year ’round for the federal government. State governments are also reaping revenue windfalls. – WSJ

From The Dan Bongino Show: Buying power down by 2.4%, government spending up.

They monetize their own debt and reap the tax revenue.

Dems trying to pass mega spending package which they claim will lower inflation. Print more money to stop more money from chasing less goods. Prices and inflation will continue to go up.

Next comes communist price controls, which leads to black markets, low quality.

Series of headlines from the MSM over the past year:The Inflation Scare Doesn’t Match Reality then it moves to Republicans Are Scaremongering About Inflation, next up Why The Inflation We Are Seeing Now Is A Good Thing, and then the latest: Should The Government Control The Price Of Food and Gas?

We told you this would happen, we called this on this show, we’ve been right for about 7 years, but we are the misinformation people. Everything we told you on this show has come to fruition while the leftist goons who lie to you all the time and change their story get away with it.

    More wisdom from Dan Bongino:

The left owns the tyranny label, they are telling you who they are, when the Dems tell who they are believe them.

Pack the courts, disband the Senate, dump the rules, change the filibuster, question elections, take custody of the kids education without parental input, they are who they told you they are.

Don’t let them change their tune for the upcoming midterms and pretend like they never said these things.

Even by swampy political standards, the shameless hypocrisy is astounding. A party that aggressively attempted to filibuster hundreds of Republican bills secures the majority and immediately seeks to ban the GOP from using that same tool. Nothing else changed in the meantime. What Democrats celebrated as “resistance” is now tarred as “obstructionism” as soon as the shoe is on the other foot.

Yet Democrats are deflecting their hypocrisy with three claims that are demonstrably false.

First, they claim that Republicans began the practice of restricting filibusters. Hogwash. It was then–Senate majority leader Harry Reid and his fellow Democrats who in 2013 killed the filibuster for executive nominations. Senate Democrats also killed the filibuster for most judicial nominations — exempting only Supreme Court nominations. Reid carved out the SCOTUS exception not based on any principle, but simply to wait for the next vacancy and see whether he’d either be filibustering a Republican-nominated justice or banning the filibuster to ram through a Democratic-nominated justice. When the next SCOTUS vote turned out to be for a GOP-appointed nominee, Republicans refused to allow Reid’s partisan double standard on judges and undid his SCOTUS exception.

Second, Democrats claim to have been provoked by the “extreme GOP obstructionism” of the Obama years. This lazy talking point has become such conventional wisdom that few reporters have bothered to inspect its absurdity. Even a cursory examination of the 2011–16 period of divided government reveals a deluge of center-left and center-right compromise laws. Republicans and Democrats teamed up to approve $631 billion in “round two” stimulus provisions, enact a payroll tax holiday, and extend emergency unemployment benefits three times. They enacted the $2.1 trillion Budget Control Act to cut defense and domestic spending. Lawmakers aggressively expanded the child credit, the earned-income tax credit, veterans’ benefits, and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) benefits for kids. On education, lawmakers cut interest rates on student loans several times, and replaced the controversial No Child Left Behind Act with the bipartisan Every Student Succeeds Act. Congress and the president extended the 2001 tax cuts for most but raised taxes on the rich.

The Democrats third claim is that they must kill the filibuster because hyperpartisan Republicans have not endorsed major Biden initiatives like $2 trillion in new taxes, at least $2 trillion for climate and infrastructure, or legislation that would fundamentally alter the U.S. election system. But bipartisanship doesn’t mean unilaterally surrendering to the other side’s most partisan initiatives (again, Democrats almost never unilaterally endorse GOP initiatives, either). Nor does it mean slightly watering down far-left proposals. It means a mutual willingness by both parties to negotiate and compromise, to find common ground, with each side enjoying some legitimate policy victories on its priority issues. If Democrats continue to go behind closed doors and design historic expansions of government with absolutely no Republican input — and then assert that any “good faith” negotiation must begin with the GOP conceding 90 percent of the Democrats’ opening offer — then Republicans will be absolutely justified in filibustering those bills. Just as Democrats have consistently done when the roles were reversed. This is true especially if Democrats also resume filling the amendment tree and banning Republican amendments to bills.

Let’s be honest. Partisanship is a feature of politics, and each side compromises only when necessary. But only one side eliminated the nominations filibuster, began dismantling the judicial filibuster, and now hypocritically seeks to eliminate the legislative filibuster that they had celebrated when they were in the minority. This is not a response to recent GOP filibusters (of which there have been none since 2014) or some mythical obstructionism surge under President Obama. It’s a naked, shameless, dishonest power grab. And, like nuking the judicial filibuster, it’s a move that Democrats will likely regret the next time they lose power. – Brian Riedl, National Review

Liberals and the media have spent the past year lying that if you disagree with Joe Biden you’re an insurrectionist. They lie that you want to take away people’s rights to vote. They lie that you’re anti-science and are to blame for the pandemic. And they lie that you’re a racist, sexist, homophobic transphobe if you who express an opposing viewpoint from them about anything ever.

As more polls show how much the American people hate Joe Biden and are turning against the left’s agenda, it’s only going to get worse. This is only January. The election is still ten months away. Buckle your seatbelts.

Dementia Joe was confused as to why Akram was “using anti-Semitic & anti-Israeli comments.” Perhaps this recorded phone call might shed some light on matters.

“I’ve come to die, I’m gonna take them toe to toe.”

“I will go down as a martyr, I’ll let no mother f*cker suppress me.”

“I’m bombed up, I’ve got f*cking every ammunition.”

    Here’s the best part.

“I’m opening the doors for every youngster to enter America to enter America and f*ck with them. […] If they want to f*ck with us, we’ll give them f*cking war.”

It’s a good thing for Malik Faisal Akram that he wasn’t Bubba Jo McMaga and in Washington last January. Or that he wasn’t a concerned parent who raised his voice at a school board meeting. If that was the case, the feds may have actually investigated him ahead of time. If he was McMaga, his family’s shame and embarrassment would be on a 24/7 loop news-entertainment networks like CNN. Instead, the audio-only makes an Israeli newspaper while the American press memory-holes the incident like they did that SUV that killed people in a Wisconsin Christmas parade. – Louder with Crowder

Hard Left “woke” ideology has all but obliterated the idea of a border. Millions of impoverished foreigners are entering the United States illegally – and during a pandemic without either COVID-19 tests or vaccinations.

The health bureaucracies have lost credibility as official communiques on masks, herd and acquired immunity, vaccinations, and comorbidities apparently change and adjust to perceived political realities.

After decades of improving race relations, America is regressing into a pre-modern tribal society.

Crime soars. Inflation roars. Meritocracy is libeled and so we are governed more by ideology and tribe.

The soaring prices of the stuff of life – fuel, food, housing, health care, transportation – are strangling the middle class.

Millions stay home, content to be paid by the state not to work. Supply shortages and empty shelves are the new norm.

Nineteenth-century-style train robberies are back. So is 1970s urban violence, replete with looting, carjackings, and random murdering of the innocent.

After the Afghanistan debacle, we have returned to the dark days following defeat in Vietnam, when U.S. deterrence abroad was likewise shattered, and global terrorism and instability were the norms abroad.

Who could have believed a year ago that America would now beg Saudi Arabia and Russia to pump more oil – as we pulled our own oil leases, and canceled pipelines and oil fields?

Our path to systems collapse is not due to an earthquake, climate change, a nuclear war, or even the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead, most of our maladies are self-inflicted. They are the direct result of woke ideologies that are both cruel and antithetical to traditional American pragmatism.

Hard-Left district attorneys in our major cities refuse to charge thousands of arrested criminals – relying instead on bankrupt social justice theories.

Law enforcement has been arbitrarily defunded and libeled. Police deterrence is lost, so looters, vandals, thieves, and murderers more freely prey on the public.

“Modern monetary theory” deludes ideologues that printing trillions of dollars can enrich the public, even as the ensuing inflation is making people poorer.

“Critical race theory” absurdly dictates that current “good” racism can correct the effects of past bad racism. A once tolerant, multiracial nation is resembling the factionalism of the former Yugoslavia.

The culprit again is a callous woke ideology that posits little value for individuals, prioritizing only the so-called collective agenda.

Woke’s trademark is “equity,” or a forced equality of result. Practically, we are becoming a comic-book version of victims and victimizers, with woke opportunists playacting as our superheroes.

Strangest in 2021 was the systematic attack on our ancient institutions, as we scapegoated our ancestors for our own incompetencies.

The woke have waged a veritable war against the 233-year-old Electoral College and the right of states to set their own balloting laws in national elections, the 180-year-old filibuster, the 150-year-old nine-person Supreme Court, and the 60-year-old, 50-state union.

The U.S. military, Department of Justice, FBI, CIA, Center for Disease Control, and National Institutes of Health until recently were revered. Their top echelons were staffed by career professionals mostly immune to the politics of the day.

Not now. These bureaus and agencies are losing public confidence and support. Citizens fear rather than respect Washington grandees who have weaponized politics ahead of public service.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, Attorney General Merrick Garland, former FBI heads like James Comey and Andrew McCabe, retired CIA director John Brennan, and Anthony Fauci head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases – have all politicalized and vastly exceeded their professional purviews.

They sounded off in public fora as if they were elected legislators up for reelection. Some lied under oath. Others demonized critics. Most sought to become media darlings.

This governmental freefall is overseen by a tragically bewildered, petulant, and incompetent president. In his confusion, an increasingly unpopular President Joe Biden seems to believe his divisive chaos is working, belittling his political opponents as racist Confederate rebels.

As we head into the 2022 midterm elections, who will stop our descent into collective poverty, division, and self-inflicted madness?

Roberts later released a separate statement to The Hill, claiming that he had not asked Gorsuch to mask up either — or any other justice for that matter.

“I did not request Justice Gorsuch or any other Justice to wear a mask on the bench,” the Roberts said in a statement provided to The Hill. NPR did not respond to a request for comment from the outlet.

Nina Totenberg, NPR’s longtime Supreme Court correspondent, cites several moments of palpable anger from the court’s liberal justices that have boiled over recently, including eye rolls, speeches from the bench and even an anecdote about the color draining from Justice Elena Kagan’s face as one of the conservative justices speaks.

“The people at the court, in my time at least, think that the Constitution, the country … the court is much more important than they are and they somehow keep it together to decide cases appropriately and to get along with each other in a civil way,” Justice Clarence Thomas said during a commencement address at Duquesne University, according to NPR.

Sadly, this is fairly accurate — the filibuster is going to stay intact. No one ever meant for the current situation to arise, where no meaningful legislation can be passed without a supermajority, but there are those (looking at you, Mitch) who are very happy to make use of this situation. The biggest mistake was allowing for an “easy” filibuster — where no one actually filibusters anymore; they just have to say they will. That’s absurd.

Hmmm, I wonder why the dims want voting rights for illegals? Let’s see, crashing poll numbers, agenda limited to power grabbing for themselves and their fellow elites, otherwise known as the Great Reset. I have to think about this one; just can’t figure it out.

178,840 Illegals Captured and Released at Border in December — Nearly 2 Million Invaders This Year — But Biden Regime Worried about Ukraine’s Border!

Border agents captured a record 178,840 illegal border crossers in December. This is more illegals than the previous three Decembers combined under President Trump.

So far, in Joe Biden’s first year a record two million illegals will be captured and released into the US interior.

According to FOX News reporter Bill Melugin the illegals were being flown from Brownsville to Atlanta, GA, Houston, TX, and Miami, FL — three red states that the Biden regime is purposely flooding with illegal aliens.
