Even my brother who spent his career in Florida promptly moved as soon as he and his spouse retired. Of course, they chose Georgia: They’re very conservative, though no longer Republican. And of course, their daughter and her family are living there now…
California has some of the highest taxes in the nation and is expecting a 68 BILLION (68,000,000,000) dollar surplus this year. I would say people are over taxed in thay state.
Gov Newsome, advertising California in the state of Florida. Here’s part of the script he left off. "Come to California for…A homeless population that rivals a 3rd world country, the highest gas prices in the USA, District Attorney’s that offer no cash bail, so criminals are back on the street, within hours to rob and rape again, fires that burn every year destroying the countryside because the libs won’t allow controlled burns to rid the forest of timber, gangs terrorizing the citizen’s, the most expensive housing in the country, rolling power blackouts, earthquakes etc. Shall I go on?

Thanks for my morning chuckle. I don’t accept statements w/o checking the veracity of the source(s). Cato Institute. Fraser Institute. The Blaze. Dailywire. Libertarian sources. Charles Koch is a libertarian… no regulations on businesses… if your house on fire you pay for the services of the fire dept… hire your own security… if ya can’t pay for it, you can’t get it. What a lovely dystopian catastrophe you claim is freedom.
“Florida just ranked as the freest state in America and New York is apparently the least free, according to a new report from a LIBERTARIAN think tank. The right-leaning Cato Institute published its “Freedom in the 50 States” report this month based on how each state’s policies promote fiscal, regulatory and personal freedom."
We definitely need to lose a few folks, way too many people here now. And if they take their voting tendencies along with them a win for other parts of the country as well.
I’ve lived all over the country. I grew up in NYC. I lived a few years in Massachusetts, Georgia and South Dakota. I’ve spent a lot of time in Florida and Texas with friends and family. But, I’ve chosen California as my home.
It’s expensive here, but so is NYC or Boston (or any other major city). We have Natural disasters here, but so does everywhere else. We have earthquakes and fires, Texas and Florida have Hurricanes and tornadoes (as a bonus Texas also gets frigid weather and blizzards). If your politics skews right, well, you’re not going to like it here.
The RWNJ like to portray California as a crime ridden Progressive h*ll hole, where homeless transvestites prey on the good citizens. In actuality, California is number 16 in crime, Texas is #15 and nearly all the southern states and some western ones take up the other 14 slots(all Red states). We have a lot of homeless here ( half the homeless people are in California). It’s a problem, but it’s an old one.
California lost a net of 100,000 people last year. As a percent of California’s population, that’s 0% to the nearest percent (0.0025%), so, not an exodus. People move around in America, that’s how California got so big in the first place. If you don’t like it here, go somewhere else. If you find that hurricanes and blizzards and politicians who would rather fight with imaginary creatures than solve your state’s problems, then come back here.
In all honesty, both states are doomed. Florida will be under a great deal of water by the next century. Meanwhile, California is running out of water, and they are living on borrowed time concerning the next major earthquake.
Canada is nice and should be fairly tropical by the next century.

No suppression. Women can still access abortion for rape, incest and to save their lives. Birth control is cheap and widely available. Caucasians are fast becoming the minority in Florida.
yea… FREEDOM… as long as you are a white male or female of voting age who wants the government making your birth decisions….FREEDOM… as long as you don’t wear that ‘theatrical’ mask near the governor … or want to get a vaccine shot easily….FREEDOM… as long as you don’t want to vote by mail… FREEDOM as long as you go along with the BIG LIE…. FREEDOM as long as your not a person of color or immigrant and don’t get too ‘uppity’….
