I enjoyed the typographic symbolism in panel #7 expressed by Flip.
I’m left wondering if the frustration of Flip’s nonverbal expression is a point of original creation by Winsor for that technique of using nonlinear typographic representation of “bad language” showing up in public spaces like comic strips.
I don’t know enough history of the Comic Strip to clearly understand where the convention actually originated historically, but I would like to know.
