Figures. This is why I triple check before proceeding. OCD and dyslexia are not a good combination as a whole but it sometimes helps to have OCD if you’re dyslexic
A neighbor and I have house numbers that would drive a dyslexic to tears. We often get each other’s mail or deliveries. Twice her window cleaners have come to my house, and twice I have sent them to the correct address before they even started. They finally learned which house to go to. I am slow sometimes. But honest.
I remember back in the day I was working 2nd shift retail while renting space in a guys house. One day I was just starting my day after sleeping in from a late work night when someone started knocking at the front door. I went to answer it and found a guy in the coverall uniform of a local ground service and he said he just wanted to let me know that he’d finished treating the backyard but needed to go get something before starting the front yard. I looked at him and said, “we don’t have a service.” He gave me the stupid look for a second before pulling out the order slip to double check the address and I could tell he wanted to face palm when he compared the address on the order to the address on the front of our house. He apologized and said there wouldn’t be any charge because it was his mistake and walked away muttering to himself. The point is that even professionals can make a bonehead mistake.
