This looks like a disaster in the making. Poor Dez.

Pretty big coincidence, considering Dez is supposed to be from NYC. Looks like the so-called “VAST Luanniverse” is really anything but vast.

What was Dez’s major again….or is she one of those professional students.

This just weirder and weirder and not in the good way, I think we are at the Event Horizon for Cosmic Coincidences. Next we’ll learn that Dez is Gunther’s half sister.

I think Stef is going to be the odd girl out. Luann, Dez and Bets are all good friends already.

So the whole time Tiff had known Dez, she never knew she knew Bets. And I am afraid to ask what kind of camp they went to. And so since Dez and Bets have known each other the longest, I would think they know each other the best. Wonder why they chose not to room together. Well, of course, GnK has something up their sleeves.

Several misdirection plays all at once. Any thought Tiffany would be left in the cold is liberated, although the relative strength of Stef and Tiff as two of a kind will be tested, but lo and behold!! Dez and Bets know each other, have since camp, more than 11 years. This will not boring.

Well Dez is all into camping!

Could be an awesome team of outstanding women (though Miss Cheerleader might be the odd woman out)

Luann really misses out on a lot by not enrolling at Moony U. Knowing her lackluster performance in high school, I am guessing that she did not qualify for scholarships. Bernice went there on scholarship. Wonder if she will return for the new year?

Interesting.

Bets and Dez know each, and have known each other for a while.

Curious that the two haven’t run into each other on campus before now. But hey, it’s a big campus.

What’s even MORE curious is that these “old pals” didn’t choose each other as roommates.

Or did they, and Stef only assumes she’s bunking with Dez?

Which could mean that Tiff may still be obnoxious Stef’s roommate.

“Small World,” indeed.

How come Bets and Dez aren’t roommates? They are members of the Camp Buckaroo alum!

This has a train wreck written all over it.

The way Stef says “You know each other?” makes me somehow feel like all the sudden she’s going have a change of heart & to want to room with Tiffany soon.

They “experimented” at camp?

This could have gone into Tiff and Bets investigating Tom’s financial set backs, but Greg has opted for the “young girls in a dorm” theme. His call, and I can’t argue with his success.

I still say that Dez is a lunatic. She’s a lady out of her time and should have been part of the “hippie-dippy flower worshipping” 60s.

Camp Buckaroo is a daytime summer program?

This is awkwardly adorable. Not “adorkable” but I don’t know what better describes this.

I hope camp Buckaroo Banzai had an 8 dimensional experience!

They are childhood friends!? That’s was totally unexpected and I absolutely love it!!! I don’t remember a flashback arc in “Luann”, but I would love to see Bets and Dez first meet as children ♡. Tiffany looks really surprised, but Stef has already told her she wants to staying with Dez and Dez wanted to be with Stef. So her room sharing with Bets is guaranteed! Glad to see Stef being the only one that don’t know Bets.

Maybe they can hire Bernice to organize their paperwork and Luann to scrub the toilets?

Wow, I hate all of this. Please get back to a Luann story next week. Or I guess Brad and Toni.

Neither Dez nor Bets seem to me to be the kind of girl likely to go to a cowboy camp.

While Bets is an improvement as a roomie over the cheerleader (who would drive me bonkers within five minutes), I see the great potential for conflict over Gunther in this arrangement.

I think most colleges are going loony, Harvard Elects Atheist As Lead Chaplain.

I’m thinking that Dez and Bets will be roomies, and Tiffany will get what she wished for (or not!).

Tiffany’s next lesson in real life business should be in networking. As in Tif knows Steff (and, wants Steff’s boy friend,) She also knows Dez, and, Bets. Who also know each other. The assignment is; how to make those connections work for you. (personally, or, business wise.)

Honestly, sometimes I want to read more about Dez. She clearly has a fascinating backstory somewhere.

I think Greg forgot that Dez was from the East Coast. I doubt she grew up in Pitts. Did Bets? We never were told much about her backstory.

So is Bets going to wind up as Des Roommate, leaving Tiff with the self absorbed cheerleader?

That came about while the BFFs were packing up Bernice’s dorm stuff for summer break. A couple of interesting things of note from back then: (May 24th) Luann had car insurance due so she intended to work at both The Fuse and "Kids 1st (also called Kidz 1st at one time) over the summer. So at this point in time Luann was gainfully employed. We haven’t seen much of that since. Neither the Fuse nor Kids 1st. (May 23rd) We also find that Luann had not decided on a major nor a life goal.

Shortly thereafter the whole quarantine mess occurred and the story lines went all over the place. Perhaps some continuity will return.

P.S. We still don’t know the dispositions of our favorite BFFs. Both an Uni? Or One at Uni and one at Pitts CC?

Notice the “big switch”.Suddenly Des and Bets are “the weirdos” and Tiffany and Stef are thenormal ones.

Now the important question.Does anybody snore?

Nice, but if Desdemona and Bets are old friends, why are we just learning about it now?

This could be exactly what Tiffany needs. Bets is smart and seems to be doing well in business classes. Tiff needs help academically in some of her business courses. Bets also has a good, possibly large social following with her instagram ( or whatever it is in the Luann universe), to which now Tiffany will be a part of. Tiffany could easily get a following of her own and start her own instagram as she is young, pretty and has good charm and wit, provided the popularity doesn’t regress her back to her high school self. Bets knows Tiffany is a true friend to both her and her boyfriend, so she will not be perceived as a threat. A solid friend is what Bets needs, as she has her image self and her true self. Dez will be there with her words of wisdom. It won’t always be peace, love and happiness, but I can see Tiffany, Bets and Dez all doing well in the quad dorm.

Just because Dez and Bets met at camp 12 years ago does not mean they’ve been friends since then. They don’t have a lot in common and they probably just reconnected now when they realized they were in the same dorm.

Soooooo, does this mean Tiff is rooming with Steff?

This is probably the first time Dez and Bets have seen each other since Camp Buckaroo. If they’d been friends since then they would not talk about camp like this. They would just say they are old friends.

And Dez knows (or is bound to know) Kevin Bacon, so the six degrees of separation is out the window.

The “Tiffany” arcs have become my favorite part of the Luanniverse (did I get the word right?). I like Dez, the Luann and Bernice arcs have been mildly interesting, sometimes annoying, but I really dread anything with Shannon in them!

Will be interesting to get a Dez/Bets background story. Greg put a lot of thought into those two. I would like to see a few layers.

I like what I see happening, but I would like it better if Luann transfers to Mooney U and becomes part of the group again.

If Tiff bunks with Bets, she’s staying with a friend.If Tiffany bunks with Stef, she’s going to pretty much get what she wanted in the first place.

The surprising thing is that Tiff spent an entire semester with Stef and didn’t once pick up on her belittling and condescension.

It’s as though Tiff feels she has no more “enemies” in her life after vanquishing Ann E, and getting away from Luann. Just friends and useful idiots.

Whatever the future living arrangement, Tiff would do well not to turn her back on Stef lest she find a knife in it.

Especially if she still plans on going after Stef’s boyfriend………., ;-)

If the Rooooos keep going, they may end up switching roomies.

Hmm! Could this be leading to a Sudden Reversal of roommate plans, with old pals Bets and Dez wanting to stay together and pawning Stef off on ever-abused Tiffany? What do Gerg and Karen have against Tiffany that they torture her so mercilessly?

This could be trouble.
