Right now I can’t think of the literary canon in which expressions of not really being in intense love by a main character who really is in intense love but it’s here, I argue with Nil being intellectually immature, not dealing with romantic feelings, and Bern? Well we know how confused she is. Luann somehow will spark a disruption in Bern that will somehow lurch toward some semblance of romance with these two, or not.

Take that ball and bounce it off Bernice’s noggin ten times, daily.

I’m surprised that no one mentioned “friends with benefits”!

I think Bernice is even more in love with Nil now than before. She’s talking to Luann about him without being ashamed and with a huge smile on her face! Maybe what used to be almost only physical attraction is now true love? Dunno, for now Bernice wants to focus on her studies, but something will probably happen to stop her. Probably Jack or maybe Piro’s return, and Luann will always be on her side as a tireless, precious and irreplaceable friend.

Going OT a bit:

Here’s an idea for a story arc: Brad & Toni learn that Shannon is an heiress to millions from some eccentric relative.

Unfortunately, her “sperm donor” finds out too, and returns to “claim” his daughter.

Then, there’s a court hearing where Brad & Toni prove abandonment, and her brother’s sorry ass ends up in prison.

How about it, G&K?? At least it’s something different!!

Bernice doesn’t know what she wants…. Next, she’ll blame her parents..

How about a new guy for Luann? Or just a date. The girl is in college, is it an all female school?

This is all very amuseing.

I think Bern might be less conflicted if her thoughts more aligned with a recreational instead of romantic aspect of her relationships. She seems to think that any urges she has with a potential partner must culminate in everlasting love. Maybe she just needs to loosen up and have a good time for once.

Bernice always makes it so complicated. What happened to two people just agreeing to be friends? No, not here, that’s too easy and mature. It has to spiral down the rabbit hole of muse and struggling artist. We will watch her try to fulfill that role, with the end result just being the two of them back in the bushes again.

Bernice, just admit that you blew it. Everyone deserves love, but heres a little news flash: You ain’t everyone.

Marriage is about enjoying each other’s company while doing mundane tasks. If the only time you enjoy being around somewhere is when you are getting hot and heavy, that relationship is only being a momentary distraction, a mere way to past the time.

Bernice will definitely be a virgin all her life. That is best for all the males she knows.

Distraction from what? It’s not like Bernice is especially driven or even very busy, as she still has time to sit around on Luann’s bedroom floor all day. And she’s been at the same point in her education for about 8 years now. What’s she got going on that requires too much attention to allow for a relationship?

As usual, Bernice is just lying and making excuses.

I have found that when someone tells you that they don’t want any “romantic distractions” in their life right now, they mean they don’t want any romantic distractions from you.

Same2Ubuddy raises an interesting specter. Which character will get pregnant first? In order of likelihood, the candidates are: Toni, Stef, Bets, Bernice, Tara, Luann, field, no one.

The names have changed but the positions have stayed the same.

Yes, being Nil’s “muse” is perfect. Perfect way to get rid of someone you realize you’re just not that into them, without hurting any feelings. Now both are happy.
