Aw shucks! From a less than stellar ending last week, we are off to a less that stellar beginning this week. Tara seems to be the writing champ of this arc, followed by Piro. Although Luann has two prize selections to his one.
And we pivot to Luann who once again canât think of a thing to write. Again, and again. I fear the writers are on vacation. So Bets and Gunther are somewhere on the road.
Tiffany is tongue-tied at the Gazebo
And we pivot to Luann who once again canât think of a thing to write. Again, and again. I fear the writers are on vacation.
Is Luann 19 years old or 19 minutes old? Only someone whoâs 19 minutes old doesnât have much of a life. At 19 years old, though, Luann should already have a ton of experiences under her belt. How hard can it be for her to write about at least one experience?
I guess sheâs forgotten the crazy camping trip from a few years back, her stage experiences, and the time she got sacked from her job at the daycareâŠto name a few!
How do archery and parasailing provide Tara material for stories? It seems like the the chaos and dysfunction of her experiences with the family and her own impulsiveness (and maybe off-roading) would give her most of her material,
Luann probably has just as much material as Tara does, she just doesnât know how to mine it.
Tara writes about herself and Bets uses her phone to do the same thing. To me, that just means more trash in a world that is already filled with no substance cotton candy.
Luannâs problem is not her writing, itâs her Thinking! She needs to spend less time focused in what she doesnât have (drama/trauma) and more time focused on what she Does have (enjoyable life experiences, if she took the chance to appreciate!)
By everone above listing out everything Luannâs done in her life, Gerg and Karen dont have to waste a lot of time goin back through the archives themselves. Jus look through todays comments here
Greg and Karen are going to keep Us hanging with the Tiffany arc.
I thought surely they wouldnât pull something like that, switch to a different arc just as the last one getting kinda âinteresting.â But darned if they didnât.
Guess I should have known. Tiffany was acting âUnTiffanyâ:like for most of last week. Shudda known _SOMETHING _ was up. Enjoy your âchuckle at OUR expense, Evans Crew. ;-)
So now weâre back to Lu and Tara.
Two things:
Lu? Why donât you ask your âfriendâ Tara WHY she didnât invite YOU to any of those exciting events? Is she afraid youâll âcrampâ her style?
Wait for it. Either Walt/Piro shows up, disturbing Luannâs boringly calm pool (so she thinks) or something else. These are the major possibilities of this arc. But this strip is asymmetrical so one never knows.
None of this easy. Whether itâs fiction, non, informational, writing takes some embellishment. Some of the commenters here can write, but can they harness, then create characters and situations?
Use the AI-powered Chatbot (Bing Chat or Google Bard), Luann! Just give them a few word prompt, theyâll give you plenty to fill a book! (â âżâ ) Although the hardest part is having to to edit it, though!
Luann should read âLuann Againâ to get some inspiration! ;-))Theyâre in the Fuse, so many another cast member will enter to give her ideas? Please. I canât see another week of her lamenting her boring life in front of a blank page.
WWAâ€ïžED, Luann. If you do, youâll have enough⊠adventures⊠to fill a book in no time flat. Our Muse, Annâ€ïžEiffelâs memoirs fill and entire library and they are adding another wing because they just keep coming. BTW, Tara is a hot candidate to become an â€ïžEiffelette. While not in the Hawt Stef or Tattooed Toni or Betts the Bae class to rock a thong bikini, she has the lips for itâŠâ€ïž the hair, too, boy howdy. Bet she has a killer pair of gams, too, which will really rock a micro mini little black dress in a cocktail lounge full of Shoog Daddies. So beings a new arc. Luann hooks up with Dearest Annâ€ïžEiffel and the memoirs will burn up the pages. No wonder we all â€ïž Annâ€ïžEiffel. This strip is sooooo Dullsville without Darling Annâ€ïžEiffel. Thatâs enough for today, Counters⊠gotta run, hon⊠âtil tomorrow⊠same time⊠same station⊠Count OUT!
Luann still wants to be a romance writer? She could always draw on her short-lived experience⊠Write about âGill,â a handsome, Australian lover boy and his favorite girl âLeann,â the lazy bump-on-a-log who wins his heart with her inner beauty and knack for having an always untidy room.
Just leave out all the long-distance anxiety and break up (or donât if you canât manufacture more interesting drama) and give it a happy ending. Spice it up by making âGillâ a wild, exciting Australian stereotype who fights crocodiles and kangaroos. If Quillâs flattered by the portrayal he might even beg Luann to take him back, just like a made-for-TV movie.
Also, itâs humorous how Luann canât go a few pages without getting writerâs block and begging Tara for assistance⊠I could see Tara getting exhausted of being taken out of the zone. Maybe sheâll tell Luann to just tell ChatGPT about her life and ask it to do a plot outline for her that would make for an entertaining short story/novel/script, just to get Luann out of her hair.
Monday â one day check-in with Luann -still being wrote as a boring person. Tuesday â back to all the other characters and their interesting lives!
I used to, and still do, hate essay questions. Unlike straight questions, youâre looking at a sheet of blank paper to fill in, usually with a minimum word count.
Maybe if was better at them, Iâd have a better aptitude for random conversation.
745-what does it mean?? The answer to the July 4 (#745) Wordle is IRATE. The word âirateâ is commonly used to describe someone who is visibly or intensely angry, often accompanied by a sense of indignation or rage.
I didnât think my life was very interesting until my daughter began telling her friends about my adventures and asking me questions. They all found it interesting. She has a way of bringing out the best in people.
My creative writing professor actually strongly advised against writing from your experiences, for exactly the reason that Luann is discovering â sooner or later, youâll run out. (You also come across as self-absorbed, which most people donât enjoy reading.) Instead, he recommended doing what Luann did earlier (and which folks here castigated her for): write from what you see around you, because then youâll never run out of material. Watch people around you and get glimpses into their lives as they go about their days, and then talk to them or just try to piece together what they might be thinking as they go about their days until inspiration strikes and you have something to write about.
The lady who wrote GONE WITH THE WIND was so painfully shy she once said she wouldnât go back to New York City until everybody who lived there had forgotten that she once wrote a book.
Geez Luann you got 3rd place in a humor story contest and was asked to present another story (from creative writing class) at the Spring fair. Isnât all of this enough encouragement to enable you to keep going? And by the way, havenât you learned anything from these efforts? i.e. that writing is actually WORK?? that you actually have to concentrate and think? that words donât just magically appear on the page

In theory, any piece of writing can be improved by making its second sentence âAnd then the murders startedâ.
So if Luann can just come up with a first sentence, add that after it, and the rest should be a piece of cake.

How awesome to see that Tara and Luann continue to see each other to write together, even in the summer. Despite her problem with writerâs block, Luann remains serious about becoming a writer. I wonder how much she has already written and if she has do only comedy or has tried something else. Iâd really like to see her write a stemapunk sci-fi story. I wonder if they will meet anyone at âCafĂ© Kablooieâ or just talk to each other. It would be good if Piro comes, or Jack and Nil, or if Tiffany is there to work and decide to tells Luann whatâs happening in her house just because she needs to talk about it with someone.
