Men have only two: Everything they say, and everything they do.” The fact that Toni buys into this doctrine of inequality is fertile soil for future irreconcilable differences. She needs to accept unequivocally the fact that sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander; no partner gets special privileges because of their gender.

98% of the time it is men, that’s why mansplaining is now a word.

Example: I walk into the house with steaks from the barbecue. My wife: “are they done?”Me: “no.. but I thought I’d take them on a walk around the house before finishing them.”

Example 2: we have friends over and I’m making popcorn. My Wife: “are you making enough for everyone?“ Me: “no… Just for those that I love”.

There has been a lot of Brad and Toni lately and a lot about children. Is she expecting?

Are we are going to find out that she is expecting a wee bairn, after they are done with the guest artists?

Will there be a Brad and Toni family spin off, where they have their own kids, yet still look after Shannon (and her brother)?

Toni, it’s “nice” to see you think so highly of your spouse and his intellectual abilities that, in your eyes, he’s not smart enough to check the on/off switch. Even worse, you’re suggesting that Brad work on an electrical appliance when it’s plugged in? If you want to be helpful, step up and work on it, instead of standing on the sidelines and offering useless advice.

I wonder how many readers last week’s arc cost them? I wonder how many are gone for good, or how many are like me who stopped, then checked in today just to see if sanity had returned. If not I would have been gone for good.

I think this is a good reminder about how competent Toni is. And very nice to see after that drivel of the last week or so. Early Brad was always working in the engine compartment of his car. After marriage to Toni, not so much, because Toni is a better mechanic. and now he has better things to do… ;^)

While I’m tempted to go into the history of mansplaining (which has some pretty egregious real life examples of extremely educated and qualified women being “taught” about their area of expertise by some random guy at a party), what I’m wondering here is: has Brad ever been shown as being any good at electronics repair? I’m also trying to remember if he was ever all that adept at working on his car engines. I seem to vaguely remember that Toni was better at it than he was.

The “men can’t win” theme and the comments it inspired make me think of a Michael Moore piece from several years ago. He was “agreeing” (not really) with people saying men were losing ground and no longer had power or respect, noting as an example that at that time, men only constituted a shocking (meaning low) 92 percent of the Senate. I wonder what it is now?
