Now it’s time for another flurry of questions: what was wrong with Piro’s mom? Is Bernice still wanting something to blossom between her and Piro? Is Alan still wanting something to blossom between him and Luann? Where will the story go from here?

So when are they going to ask Piro about the navy?

Clearly Piro loves his siblings. He doesn’t mind taking care of them. Yes, it can get overwhelming but it’s expected with children. Bernice, run. That life is not for you.

Got a car, taking care of the sivlings is the easiest part? Lot more to this “bum” Piro than strictly a like him or not character grab misses the whole rich and layered story, huh?

Seems like a Saturday strip on a Friday, but no questions answered, So what fresh heck are they to unleash tomorrow.

Ho, Ho, Bernice! Listen closely! If Piro says that the childcare is the easiest part, you need to think very hard about any attempt on your part to “help” or fix his challenging situation. If you’re really serious about it, you’ll need to “walk a mile in his moccasins” by following him around for a day or two, maybe even a week, to evaluate yourself and whether you’re actually able or willing to keep up with his schedule. You’ll need to do a lot more childcare and homework helping. You may need to help his mother in the bathroom. You may need to help with meal preparation and shopping. You may get very little discretionary time with him to talk about how he is feeling or coping. Nonetheless, it would be very educational.

I would guess that Piro really wants to enlist in the Navy, but is afraid to leave his sibs in the care of his screw-up mother.

Perhaps the last line spoken in panel 4 is more prophetic than we’d like to believe at this moment. . .

If Bernice really wanted to give Piro a hand, she could go over and help tidy up their house, like Luann did years ago with Gunther when his mom was in a wheelchair. Only problem is that Bern seems to want to help Piro, but his sibs, not so much.

Ah, Spring. When Greg turns his gloom into full bloom. These two dullards aren’t cutting it, so let Tiffany bust out, regain her glamor, and become the new star of 2025.

“See you soon, Luann!” Yep… next time, Piro will just show up and dump them all off… Just like Jonah.

Luann an Bernice cn both move over there to Piro’s mom’s place. Bernice for Piro Luann for th kids. They could even trade ever now an then. It’s not Utah but I dont think anyone’d pay it no never mind

She’ll be home Monday with a new kid. Or two. The Be❤️ed Count actually feels kind of sorry for Pedo that he doesn’t have a really cool beans mom like useLes. Dilly! Dilly!

From Piro’s expression, seems that the biggest problem come from the parents, most likely the stepfather. Let’s hope he’s not the violent type. Alan is probably right and Luann and Bernice will go back to babysitting them soon. After all this Piro is still reluctant to fully confide in Bernice… Seriously?! She deserves a full explanation!

Get that look off your face, Bernice. It’s not quid pro quo – just because you supposedly watched the kids, that doesn’t mean Piro has to give you the details of what went on.

What? Luann was the one looking after them.

Again we don’t see him even acknowledge LuAnn.

After Piro leaves, LuAnn and Bernice will engage in a game of ‘one-up-manship’ with who knows the most about Piro and why they should be the one trying to engage him further.

Does Piro realize Luann did all of the work? She has a great attitude and a generous heart. Piro is definitely a “fixer upper.” Does she need him?

I would not want to be in Piro’s shoes.

Maybe Luann is off Bernice’s hook now.

Piro is sad, so sad.

Best story arc in a while! Great job!

Guess Piro isn’t looking right now. He’s too busy dealing with his family issues.

Piro: “Pry if you must.” Bernice: “ I must, I must!”

It looks to me as though Piro is another world away from Luann and Bernice. Very different kind of life.

Oh, screw this guy. If he can dump his siblings on Bernice with zero warning then he can give her a flippin’ explanation. And now he goes and makes it sound like no big deal?!?

Sorry, P…no explanation, no free childcare. No secrets. Even with your cool hair.

Bernice has a “patient” who isn’t cooperating and it’s driving her crazy. What can she do to get him to Spill the beans? Let out all the cats? Dish out the dirt? Maybe she should quit judging his family dynamics and Give Peace A Chance.

Notice that Luann is still focused on the kids…not Piro. She grows in quiet, but substantial ways. You don’t have to have big adventures to grow. There are challenges all around you.

This is the Shannon situation, taken to an extreme. I sense a theme here.

From the looks of the mom’s 7 kids with 6 different fathers, I’d say there’s a good chance she’s in the hospital with number 8…

My two cents: PLOT TWIST!!!!! Either his Mom is a drug addict and overdosed or she has mental health problems and needed to be briefly hospitalized. Also, did anyone else notice that all of the kids look nothing alike. Like they might be from different Dads.

I like the way Bernice said taking care of the kids was complicated also since Luann did all the work. As far as Alan is concerned, I think it’s just a 12 yr. old experiencing his first crush.

A “Thank you” would have been nice. Is he oblivious to the help he just received?

So tired of Piro’s brooding air of mystery. Move on.

I like the way Piro is noticing Luann helping his sibs. When they get home they’re all going to tell him how nice Luann was. They won’t have much to say about Bernice. If Bernice was even a little bit perceptive, she would realize what impresses Piro.

Fun story, I wanna know why he has star on the side of his head ! ;-)

I think Bernice really needs a dose of reality. She wants to “help” Piro, as long as she doesn’t have to deal with his sibs. Piro obviously loves his sibs and is very responsible for them, but Bernice’s first thought would be how to get rid of them so Piro’s life is easier (and Bernice would figure more free time to spend with her). Even though Bernice is no longer technically an only child because of her long-lost brother, she is SUCH an only child! She cannot understand love between siblings, and how (in a bad situation like Piro is in, with a sick mom and no dads around) the oldest child’s biggest fear is losing his younger sibs and watching his family break up. You can bet that there’s Child Protective Services around watching his household. Bernice has had it easy. Even when her folks took in Bernice’s older brother’s family displacing her space when Bernice lost her job as RA, Bernice quickly gets rescued by Luan’s family who lets her live with them for free. Nobody ever mentions that Bernice DOES NOT HAVE ANY JOB AT ALL! Luann got hassled by her folks when she lost some of her hours at the school childcare, but Bernice gets a free-ride and doesn’t have to make ANY contribution to the household. I really do NOT like Bernice especially in this arc, as she is being horribly selfish and self-centered!

Seems to me, Piro would be better off really joining the Navy and never looking back.

Jeez, Bernice, you hardly did anything! Mostly asked nosy questions about Piro, watched a couple kids’ shows, and complained. How complicated is that?

What would Bernice know about watching the sibs? Luann did all the work!

It is frightening to consider that Piro’s other problems are above the bar set by the siblings.

Piro needed to thank Luann, a lot. And Bern? Stop taking any credit for sitting the kids. Piro isn’t a good enough friend to either of them to warrant their feelings for him.
