Well, duh. The first movie was a combination of Pocahontas – with all the problems thereof – and the (uncredited and un-paid-for) Poul Anderson story “Call Me Joe.”
I always thought it was “Dune” with a tree change.
My first thought upon looking at the second panel was: “Shouldn’t you have gotten that from the first movie?”
Genocide is part of colonization the way humans do it to each other.
It’s easy to overgeneralize. Yes, humans ARE colonizers. And yes, some humans are (mostly unthinkingly) genocidal. But that’s not ALL we are.
