If he did nothing, or expanded by adding more occupied countries like Shrub did, that would somehow be better?

What’s was good enough for the Nincompoop is good enough for Obama.

Attack and slaughter without warning a bunch of innocent civilians and then expect to be afforded the courtesy due an honorable opponent in a declared war. In what universe?

I’m a liberal and I have no trouble with the strikes. If you serve with a military organization that’s effectively at war with the US, you’re a legitimate target. Military rules say you have to take prisoners if they offer to surrender, but you don’t have to ask. If we happen to catch them we can try them for treason, but even if acquitted we should just thrown them in a POW camp until the end of the war.

It’s worth noting that the military would rather take prisoners than kill people when they have the option. The living provide better intelligence.

I’ve used a “long rifle” and I don’t have a problem with SURVEILLANCE drones, but have a severe problem with armed drones, or REMF guys in a bunker overriding aircraft commanders in helicopters making the decision on who to fire on. Taking out “bad guys” ACCURATELY and SELECTIVELY isn’t so bad, at least we’re improving on that from during the “Bush years”, but it is still a problem of IDENTIFYING your target with ACCURACY! (In “Desert Stupid”, Apache pilot was ORDERED to “take out” vehicles. The pilot was pretty sure they were “friendlies”, the REMF ordered him to fire, and blow up OUR GUYS in a Bradley. THAT is not war, it is STUPID!)

The second, and LARGER issue is, taking all RISK out of the battlefield for the AGGRESSOR, is totally immoral, and given the real accounting, not even “cost effective”.

Why didn’t the “10s of thousands of civilian Iraqis who we killed during our invasions” complain? Well you see, they are dead and can’t talk. The UN (like the U.S. Congress) was busy trying to see through the wool that Shrub and Co. pulled over their eyes.
