I find it sad that so many people care so much about what other people do with their lives. Long term relationships should be ENCOURAGED and if a ‘marriage contract’ accomplishes that, isn’t that a good thing? People who love each other and want to commit
should be able to, however and whatever way they want.
If Gays are what they’re purported by the religious community then why did God create them? Seems as though some authority is being assumed that’s a little presumptuous
I wrote it before, I write it again. Many churches idea that gays can’t marry because their sex can’t lead to procreation or that homosexuality drags down the human to the level of animal…(Sooky; What? It’s not a dog’s brain that invented the A Bomb, or the Berlin Wall!)
Anyways, these ideas are reductive. They postulate that the sole purpose of sex and love is reproduction, therefore reducing the human being (especially women, not so long ago) to a baby-making machine. Even animal sexuality is more complicated than that. Even animals masturbate (ever seen a dog hump a leg? (Sooky blushes, hides face in paws)). Humans sex life is not directed by rationality; we have fantasies that are created by our exprience, our past, our needs, our fears…
So, in my opinion, having behaviors (sexual or others) that are not driven by rationality but by instinct or needs is what separates us from the machine. It makes us unpredictable, interesting, human.
To me, gay marriage is a CIVIL RIGHTS issue and should be brought to the Supreme Court to make it legal in all states. Period. Marriage is nobody else’s business but the two people involved.

Most of the people who voted to ban gay marriage cited religous reasons. It’s interesting their God wants to make others lives miserable.

Can’t we get an amendment to stop bigots from breeding little bigots?
